I have both an ultrascope and a Littman.

I bought the Ultrascope because I couldn't hear well with my Littman. The Ultrascope is great.. If you hold it up in the air, you can hear your neighbors phone conversations... j/k- really, though, it is a great steth for me. And I work on a ventilator unit and need to assess lung sounds, etc. It's awesome.

Best to you,
Diane, RN

Ditto for me. I couldn't hear squat with my $200 Littman, and I can hear EVERYTHING with my $90 Ultrascope. 'Nuff said.

I received an Ultrascope as a gift -- can hear a lot better than with my Littman. I've thought of getting another one.

Stethescope Re: Anyone have ultrascope?
I don't have one, but the only thing I've heard that's "bad" is that they don't fit into pockets well since they're so big. (My Littman's always around my neck, so wouldn't be an issue for me.)

I had one, until the tubing cracked. It was a good one...wouldn't say it was better than my Littman, but it was definitely a good one.

Thanks for your replies I got it for the same reason as most of you ... frustrated trying to hear with my Littman. I can't wait for it to come in the mail so I can eavesdrop on my neighbors phone calls (that was funny!)

Thanks y'all

I love my Ultrascope. I've never owned a littman, so can't compare. I mostly love it cause its so cute!! It does the job, and it's definitely better than the stethoscope that my school gives us. My friends who have tried it have noticed that you don't hear the extraneous noises that come from touching the tubing or bell.
