Well, I'm not exactly afraid of getting worn out on the job; I've run a marathon (26.2 miles) and currently I wait tables at a busy pub, so I'm used to being on my feet a lot! The thing that starts killing me eventually, whether I am running or standing for a while, is the pain in my back and in my joints. Plus, because I run and have a weak core, my hips are constantly getting out of alignment, causing knee issues. And because I run, I also have awful posture. These shoes are supposed to correct your posture and alignment so you won't have aching joints. I'm all for that! | | No. 22 |

I am still a student, and I only wear them during clinicals (12 hr/week). When I start working in May, I will have to buy me a new pair or two.

They are really expensive and look kind of dorky, however, they are supposed to be excellent for your feet, knees, and back, while also giving your legs and core a workout! I figure that I won't have much time at all to work out once I start school, so I'll take my exercise where I can get it.
They don't have that particular style at Zappos.com, but they do have lots of consumer reviews of other styles, and people seem to really love them.
these seem a bit high maintenance to me, ---> - Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals. Any liquids/chemicals containing salt, oil, manure, dissolvent's, petrol, or acid may be harmful to your MBT's.
- MBT's can be worn in the rain, but dry them thoroughly upside down. Never leave MBT's damp for an extended period of time.
- Avoid mechanical damage by protecting the heel sensor from sharp objects.
- Never put MBT's in a washing machine. Hand wash your MBT's using diluted liquid soap and a sponge.
- If dirty or muddy, clean and dry immediately.
- If you detect separation or excessive wearing of the sole, discontinue use of footwear and consult your retailer. Continuing use of MBT's while the rubber sole is damaged may harm the midsole.
- If your MBT's show any indication of being faulty please return them to the store of purchase. After being examined by the store of purchase, they may be repaired or replaced. MBT's that have not been properly cared for (according to the above instructions) will not be refunded or replaced by MBT
I bought a cheaper pair of dr. scholl's and they aren't bad, they serve their purpose as my school was very picky about which ones we wore, I'm searching for a more comfy pair that conforms to school standards (the hospital I'm going to work at allows all white leather tennis shoes) this summer before last year when we have much longer clinical days

Re: What are some cool nursing shoes?
I LOVE my Berkies..... They are a godsend to my plantar fasciitis and heel spurs.
I used to wear shoes by the Body Co from Kmart.... threw them in the washer/dryer all the time... they were leather, and said that they were washable....
whatever you choose.... make sure they are comfortable... I am miserable when my feet hurt.

Re: What are some cool nursing shoes? I don't want granny-like white shoes. I want the cool-dude shoes.
If the grannies are more comfortable than the fashion statements, comfort wins for me.

I like my Crocs (but only the ones with no holes!)... I also like a Reebok shoe called "Time and a half" White leather, mid-high, really comfortable when you add an insert. My Ryka's look really cool, but 8 hours in and my feet are killing me!

Re: What are some cool nursing shoes?
I'm looking at the all white leather dansko's. I don't really care what the shoe looks like, as long as it's comfy, supportive, comfy, comfy.
