Went to nursing school in Nursemates. Switched to Nike running shoes after graduation and used them for 15 years. Then, after having lower leg pain following long shifts, finally tried Dansko clogs on the recommendation of a friend. I had to learn how to walk in them (it is a little different), but I love them now and couldn't live without them!

i found some shoes that really work for me. i LOVE them. here's the site: http://www.lydiasuniforms.com/scrubs...andau_RX_Shoe#

anyway, i like them a lot - i found out about them from my sister, who is also a nurse. they are NOT heavy AT ALL. they are really light shoes, but they are NICE.

Soulofme swears by Z-coils as does my ex-wife.
I have had a great deal of success with Rebock
classicals and midlines.
Now that I am older wifey has me wearing Merrils.
My feet and ankles are very grateful to her.

My sister who is an OR nurse likes leather athletic shoes, but she does more standing and I do more walking. I just bought a pair of the Skechers Shape-Ups on-line and I'm kind of hoping they'd work well (once I get used to them.)

What do you wear?
I brought three pair of Sketcher Shape Ups. One in white for work, another in black and found they also sold sandals, so, I got a brown pair. Well worth the money and greatly helped my plantar fasciitis. I also were Saucony and New Balance. All three have helped me tremendously along with a pair of great (and expensive) orthotics!

I wear those as well as Sketcher Shape Ups. They ARE dreamy!! I just ordered another pair of Saucony grids to alternate with the Sketchers. I am with you!

I am still in the old club wearing "no hole" plain crocs. I am definitely looking for an upgrade but so far have not had much luck. I got a great deal on some Red Cross shoes but found they pinched the tops of my feet something terrible and I didn't really feel any less fatigued with them. I also got a pair of Klogs and found I was constantly tripping and nearly rolling my ankle because of the height of the soles (sort of like platforms!).

I think my best pair of shoes at the moment are probably my basic black Dickie clogs, but I am considering Dansko or something similar in the future.

PS. And now I am definitely getting some Sketcher Shape-Ups!

I LIVE in my Birkies... clogs in winter (or in summer if I am wearing socks) -- Always clogs for work... or sandals.

I have plantar fascitis and since I started wearing them.... much less pain. I still have the arthritis pain, but wayyyyyyyyyyy better

Totally agree with the MBT recommendations. So spendy, but totally worth it. I love these shoes. I tried: Nurse Mates, Crocs. Quarks, Adidas, sketchers, and reboks. My back and feet are totally loving me after a 12 hour shift.
