Awesome! Thank you all so much for the advice. I appreciate it more than you know. It's so hard to find a good pair of comfy shoes when you have feet that are as flat as a pancake.

I haven't seen any props for Birki's on here...

I need a hip replacement, but they won't do it because I'm too young.
Birkis and a little ibuprofen lets me pound an ICU floor for 14 hours at a time. (When I still work from time to time )

I have long narrow feet with high arches, but I think I overpronate. I guess I need something to stop my arches from collapsing but I've bought tons of arch support inserts and they never do enough.

The last pair of shoes I bought ($130), made my legs feel like dead weights after 8 hours on my feet. I really appreciate all of you for the advice. I'm always confused when I go shopping for shoes. Sometimes they seem like a good idea at the time, then you find out they really do suck at comfort for those long hours on your feet.

If you have no arches, then arch supports may not be for you. Get some that fit your arches, if
you get too much arch, it will make you're feet hurt worse. I have really high arches and had to
get the highest arch support made. It made a huge difference.....my feet were hurting so bad
before I got supports that I started having the falling arches...very painful. I have to replace
my arch supports about every 4 months or so. NB shoes are still holding up after about a year now.

I know someone with the z-coil.....she wore them for a while but wasn't all
that satisfied with them.

I hadn't thought of that with the arches. I thought that I would need more arch support since I have such flat feet. Thanks for the advice!! I could've made a terrible blunder there and blew some money on something that wouldn't have helped!

I've always been searching for a comfortable pair of shoes since after a day of work my feet kill me. I found a pair of Spring Step nurses' shoes and LOVE THEM!! They come in black or white, have a zipper on the side. Unfortunately the first pair I got the sole wore out very quickly (I was wearing them also in the rain which I think also damaged them), brought them back to the store and got a new pair no charge. I'm on my third pair and still love them. I buy 2 pairs at a time.

I got them in NYC for $50.00. Well worth it.

Get some advice from a shoe store person. That's what I did. I went to
the New Balance store, not just Sears. You know, someone that had
experience with tennis shoes. Good luck.
