Go to www.sierratradingpost.com, the often have Danskos for sale. You can save quite a bit. They have a brand name search feature on the site, so if you click on Danskos it will bring up all Dansko products.

I have a pair, they are really comfy but they are a bit hard on my hips on hard floors. But, I've had hip surgery so I definently don't think that would be the case fo reveryone.

I've got a pair of Danskos I bought because they were recommended for my bad back. I haven't started clinicals yet so I can't say for sure how great they are, but I've heard wonderful things. The one thing I would say, though, is DON'T buy them through mailorder. I got mine at The Walking Company, and they had me try on two pairs. One was two big, the other perfect--turns out they were the same size! Because they're handmade, different shoes of the same size will fit differently, so you really need to try them on in person.

Definently try on a pair on Danskos at a store to get your size. They seem to be different than regular european sizes. But I'd still go the mailorder route. I checked on sierratradingpost and you can get a pair for 50% off! I'd order two pairs and return the one that didn't fit.

they are definitley not for everyone. I am somewhat clumsy and the way I walk on my dansko's (not for work, but everyday wear) has made me twist my ankle in a strange way a couple of times. A couple of years ago, I was wearing a pair when I fell off my front porch steps, and the way I went down off the Dansko's made me sprain my ankle pretty severely - to the point where it still bothers me today. I am not sure if I would have been injured in the same way if I were wearing other shoes. I still love how comfortable they are and the fact that I live 3 minutes from the outlet doesn't hurt. But when it came time to buy clinical shoes, I decided that they were probably not the best shoes for me to work in, with me being so clumsy. I will probable get a couple more pair in my lifetime, because I like the way they look, and you can find some pretty neat ones sometimes at the outlet.

Danskos aren't for everyone. I bought a pair after hearing all my friends rave about them and I find I feel like I've been walking on concrete blocks after wearing them all day. I think if you're prone to joint pain, they're great, but they sure hurt my poor tootsies.

I plan to buy a pair for casual wear, but I wouldn't want to wear them for any situation where I'm on my feet most of the day. They're noticeably heavy...

i tried them for 2 whole weeks but they were like walking on on cement blocks. i just could not stand them. make sure wherever you get them from they have a good return policy because they are not for everyone.
