Dansko Outlet?

Anyone ever bought shoes off www.danskooutlet.com? I really would like to try Dansko, but I don't want to spend $120 for shoes I may hate. The outlet is ran by Dansko, and the website says everything is factory seconds. It says the shoes may be scuffed, wrinkled, color may be a bit off, etc. The shoes are about $60-70 compared to $110-120. I'm ok with a little wrinkling, but I don't want to pay $$$ for scuffed up shoes. Any experiences?

I think it's a good idea - I bought Danskos for the first time last week, and I'm not a fan. I like them to walk in, but NOT comfy to stand in - they hurt the soles of my feet. If they were scuffed, you could just polish them.

I buy my shoes from Zappos.com. They have free shipping and if you need to send them back for any reason they will also pay for return shipping. The first pair of Dankos I bought were $89 (shoe laces). Before I bought them I was having such back pain, numbness/tingling in my feet/calves and calf cramping in the middle of the night. When I started wearing these shoes all my foot/back/leg problems disappeared. I will only buy Dansko now. The second pair of Danskos I bought are the Dansko Professionals - $105 - remember free shipping. Also, the clog shoes are supposed to slip on the back - not supposed to be tight. Good luck.

I am getting ready to send back the professional clogs to Zappos. I tried my size in narrow and regular and they don't feel as comfortable as the lace ups. But that is a great price - the ones I purchased were $109, free shipping both ways.

If you have never worn Dansko clogs, I suggest you go try them on at a store.

I had to try on 6-8 pairs before I found a pair that fit (all were 38's). If you have a high instep, some can be tight across your foot. Each is hand stitched and there is a lot of variation from one pair to another

I found the footbeds of my Dansko Professionals to be very hard, so I use foam insoles to help with that. However, the insoles do affect the fit, so I also recommend trying them on before buying.

I have bought Danskos from the outlet online and also as factory seconds sold on eBay. My chiropractor highly recommended them to me, but I read that some people didn't like the hard brick-like sole. I did not want to spend over $100 on shoes that I might not like, so I bought through the outlet first. I love them, and I have since bought several other pairs through eBay so I have several pairs to wear at home. Now Danskos (or Sanitas --same design, actually the orginal makers of the sole, but then Dansko and Sanita parted ways) are the only shoes I wear at work or running errands. I like the room in the toe box and the arch support. Some people have reported that they find it easy to turn their ankle in them, but I haven't had that problem. It's great if you can try some on in a store to get a feel for size before ordering. As one person said, each pair is handmade, so even within one size, you will find some variation, and that is the benefit of buying them at a local store. I have had good luck with ordering online though.

I love my Danskos! I just drove up to the factory outlet in Pennsylvania and bought myself a pair of Dansko dress shoes ($68 marked down from $145) and a pair of Professionals ($67). They also had some fabulous boots there . . . it's a great place to shop!

Danskos are hand made, though, so individual shoes may vary slightly in size. Unless you're POSITIVE what size you wear, you should try them on. I've had good luck ordering from the outlet, but even better luck driving up there and trying on every pair in my size before buying the ones that are the most comfortable.

Where in Pa is this outlet store??? I've tried to google it and I can't, for the life of me, find it. I love my Dansko's and would love to get them cheaper!
