Dansko's are an absolute MUST. I have a narrow foot - but beware buying the narrow sizes if you plan to wear compression socks too (I also think these are an absolute must too). I wear the compression sock, then a short gym sock over it. Then my dansko's. Even after 12 (sometimes 13!) hours, my legs feel great, no foot pain whatsoever.

I wear the Brooks Addiction. I have narrow, flat feet, and I am tall. Tried the Sanita's, did not like how they fit. Too loose, too heavy, too high for me. The Brooks Addiction come in narrow, lace-up so I can get an exact fit, and are well-padded, with great arch support. I have tried New Balance, and Saucony, with no success. After working 12 hours on a busy med-surg floor I may be tired but my feet never hurt!

I am looking in to purchasing a pair of Dansko's, I hear they are a little pricey, but definitely worth the money. I currently work in a doctor's office, but I will be starting my night shifts in the hospital within the next 2 weeks so I am concerned about the most comfortable shoes to wear.

My favorite are Klogs. The have the support if the danskos with a lot more cushion. I haven't had any feet fatigue after getting these. I have been wearing them for 3 years.

Ok, I went and bought my first pair of Danskos today , but now that I'm home, I feel like they're pretty tight . Is it just me 2nd guessing myself after paying $108 (after a 20% discount)??? I have little feet and got the smallest size (35), because the 36's flopped up and down on my foot. The 35's fit snug. My heel's against the back, but not too tightly, and my toes have room to wiggle. Where it feels tight is where the top of the shoe fits against the top of my foot....I don't like the idea of having to take these back and return to the "perfect shoe hunt" again.

Also, I noticed that they say "Made in China"....I read elsewhere that they used to be made in Italy....Any difference?

    Thanks!

You should have movement in the back. I think you maybe should consider going up a size. They are a clog and should move.

The instep (where you say it is right) will stretch.

I've had them on for about an hour and my feet do move up and down a little when I walk. I'm not sure about the "flip-floppy" feeling. I like to feel like my shoes are fit securely on my feet. Like I said in my post, the next size up had quite the gap behind my heel and flip-flopped freely.

I just bought some Danskos today too. They do flip-flop but I was informed this is how they are supposed to fit. It allows for your feet to swell as they can do after a 12 hr shift. Haha. So far I love them. I just think it is going to take some getting used to.

Clog shoes are not meant to fit your feet snuggly. Your heel should move freely when you walk, the cup at the back should not be touching your foot when your foot is up. Dansko prob has info on their website.

After dansko had a patent issue with their sole maker sanita, they choose another company and now the shoes are made in china. Sanita has been making clogs for 100 years in europe. You can always check out reviews for all clogs and shoes on zappos.

Good luck. I have yet to find my perfect shoe! Unless I can wear my merrill sandals to work. ..which I have and wore or Booties over them! Best feet feeling after work ever!!!

I personally love the Dansko brand. Every other brand/shoe I tried, has given me soooo much leg and foot pain, it was riduculous. I also had a foot injury I never took care of and this shoe always gives me comfort.

I have had many pairs of shoes over the years and have been wearing Birkenstocks for the last few. I absolutely love them. I have flat feet and a bunion starting on one foot. Wearing birkenstocks has eliminated any pain I felt before. I now have Birkenstock, London.

I'm not a nurse yet, but I'm an OR tech and I wear Dansko Pro XP. The Pro XP's are by far way more comfortable than the regular Dansko shoes, to me. I tried the regular Dansko shoes but couldn't handle the break-in period.
