What is most important to you in your scrubs?

I am just wondering, overall, if you had to rate what is most important to you in your uniform, what would you say?

I see so many styles of scrubs, lab coats and other accessories that it makes me wonder why you buy what you buy.

How would you rate the importance of the following features?
1. Cost
2. Style
3. Gender specific apparel
4. Fabric softness
5. # of pockets
6. Other qualifications

In a word: COMFORT.

I hate stiff, heavy materials and tops that are too short and/or tight.........give me soft cotton with an easy fit any day!

I agree with VivaLasViejas: comfort!!

Cost isn't so much a factor because I believe in buying quality scrubs that LAST!
Style matters in as much as I prefer the Peaches short crossover tops because they minimize...plus I'm short.
I haven't tried any unisex scrubs because I need petite pants and they don't tend to come in petite.
They HAVE to be soft...see aforementioned comfort requirement
I don't like an abundance of pockets...just more places to store things and you end up looking like a kangaroo before the shift is over!!
I really like scrubs that nobody else has...something different! I've had luck having scrub tops custom made that were really cute.

I like the Grey's Anatomy softness... its awesome!

I have a hard time finding unique scrubs that aren't cheesy. I wish that someone would come up with something that was truly fashionable in a tasteful way! Has anyone found anything like that?

My two requirements when it comes to scrubs is that they are comfortable and fit well. I do require gender specific scrubs - I'm a bigger girl and very curvy, and unisex scrubs just do not work on me - the arms and shoulders are all wrong, they're tight in the boobs and butt and baggy everywhere else, tl make me look like I'm wearing a potato sack, etc.

So, I guess I'd rate the things I consider in this order:

1. Comfort
2. Fit (really, this includes both gender and style for me)
3. Quality
4. Etc. (color/print, pockets, etc)

I don't worry much about cost as long as it's within the normal range.

It's nice when the fabric doesn't wrinkle easily. And when it's thin and breathable... some scrub fabrics are so heavy.

Pockets are good. I really like the tops with 4 patch pockets on the front, rather than slit pockets.

I'm tiny and big-busted, so fit is always an issue. Most of my scrub tops are tight in the chest and creep up and up and up, and I have to pull them down all the time.

My priorites with scrubs...

1. Comfort and fit
2. Good colors, prefer medium and dark shades
3. Oh yeah, I also need tops with two big pockets. I carry a lot of stuff in them.

I'm most interested in comfort too. I can't work in stiff, heavy fabrics that chafe and inhibit movement.

Second factor is fit. I don't like V-necks that are too low or loose. Nobody needs to look at my bra. I'm short-waisted and have trouble with the crotch dangling unless I roll the waistband down on itself. And I would never wear a top short enough that it allowed anyone to check out the waistband of my undergarments.

Next would be variety in patterns. I work peds and like to wear bright colours with patterns that will distract my kids from what I'm doing. I have some unique tops that people always comment on.

Cost isn't a huge factor since I'm still wearing scrubs I bought 10 years ago. I get my money's worth.

Bayra1ae, have you seen the Koi scrubs? They're really fashionable and hip but a little more expensive than other brands. They have a junior fit so tend to run smaller but go up to size 3X

Decent amount of pockets is important, but a MUST for me is how well it shows off my traps and my incredibly deltoids. I like the bariatric patients to know that their in good, strong hands;-)
