scrubs and ironing

Ok, I know I am probably not the majority, from how I've seen too many disheveled looking, just starting the shift people, but I iron my scrub tops and bottoms.

My mother-in-law thought she'd help out one night while babysitting and she ironed my laundry basket of "to be ironed clothes". I was appreciative as I hadn't ironed in a while since I have an insane amount of scrub tops and bottoms. Anyway, I put on a pair the other day, went to work and got teased beyond belief. I didn't realize it but my mother-in-law put a front crease in my scrubs..it acutally made the scrubs fall nicer and it had a nice, freshly ironed look. I normally don't crease them, I just iron them to get all the wrinkles out (I despise seeing even the littlest of wrinkles, one of my mom's OCD obessions that I seemed to have inherited). I recall a few classmates who always had a front crease in their scrub bottoms, but I never did it myself.

My question is two fold:

A) Do you iron your scrubs

B) Do you put a front crease in them

Awesome thanks!!!!! I hate laundry more than anything and having 4 kids, well 5 if you count my husband, I don't want to do even more. (ok well I do make my 3 sons do their own, they are old enough and I am not their maid) but I don't want to have to deal with this as well so I will for sure check into that.

Ok I have a question since my scrub days start in August. I have only ever used the dry cleaner for jackets or my Down Comforter. Can I take my scubs there to be cleaned like I would do at home and they will iron and crease them as well???

Probably a silly question and I see the cleaners mentioned a few times, but for like regular wear can this be done?? I always thought the Dry cleaners were for the special items that you can't wash at home.

I would MUCH RATHER take my scubs there once a week rather than do it myself because I would like them ironed and creased and I suck at ironing.

yep you can do that, but be prepared, unlike Jeans with front and back crease, I have never been able to get any cleaners to do the front and back crease on scrub pants...... even with request and a little starch etc..... they have always done them flat, side to side, ???? I have tried this off and on since the 70s, and the result the same, I like the front and back crease....... so I am resolved to me doing them......

I don't iron anything, in fact I couldn't even tell you where the iron is in my home. I pull all my clothes right from the dryer and hang them up while still warm. Most of my clothes are wash and wear. If something is very wrinkled I just spritz it with water and throw it in the dryer for a few minutes. If I have something that wrinkles a lot I will take it to the dry cleaners.

When I was young my older sister used to make me iron her clothes and I hated it. I still have the scars from all the times I burned my fingers on an iron.

..ohhhh .... definitely have ta iron me scrubs....no creases though!!....just enough to get the 'i do care' look! ....yeah that one --------->...takes all of 2 minutes flat to iron...feels like heaven...looks professional (i'm sure!)....try it ..you'll like it...!!!

IF YOU TAKE THEM TO THE DRY CLEANERS: Don't forget you can take it off your taxes, keep the receipts. If you do them @ home, ask your tax preparer how to take it off.

When I wore a labcoat, I took it to the cleaners--it looked really nice. I also rolled up the sleeve hems to keep them from getting so grungy.

Now, I just take them out of the dryer and "hand press" (smooth out the wrinkles) and hang 'em up. I don't even own an iron/ironing board!

When my son was a little guy, he needed speech therapy. The therapist was testing his vocabulary and showed him a picture of an iron and board. He didn't know what it was! I told the therapist to throw those pictures out.
