OMG! My feet are killing me!

I need practical, real-world nursing shoes suggestions. My current pair is a pair of EasySpirit walking shoes. By the end of the day, my feet hurt so bad. I think maybe the toebox is too narrow since my "pinky" toe gets squished up under my 4th toe, which has now caused a blister? corn? bunion? whatever you call that thing. Does anyone have any suggestions for not just "good" shoes, but "great" ones? I really don't care if they cost $50 or $500 at this point.

I *love* Dansko shoes...not the clogs though- http://www.dansko.com/Product_Detail.aspx?StyleName=Professional&ID1=006&ID2=020202&VID=633

They are consistently comfortable day in and day out. Prior to that purchase I was alternating 2 different pairs of sneakers and a pair of Crocs. Those were all good, but my feet were still beat at the end of the shift. The Dansko's are worth the $100 or so they cost.

I swear by newbalance. I tried Dansko and they killed my feet. New balance have a wider toe box and good arch support. Just my 2 cents worth.

You could always try going to an orthopod and having him make you a set of custom insoles for a pair of tennishoes??????

SAS....San Antonio Shoes. Hubs, DS, and I don't wear anything else to work.

New Balance - have your feet sized in a shoe store. I was surprised that I don't really take an 8 or 8 1/2, but rather a 7 1/2 wide - perfect fit with no "breaking in" period, no blisters. LOVE 'em!

I like wearing Crocs at work. I noticed I had less back and feet pain after a 12 hour shift when wearing Crocs. I don't wear anything else.

I also wear Crocs and I love them.

I wear nursemates with an athletic insole added and I walk on air all day and then some. I could work 16 hrs before my feet begin to get tired. Everybody seems to have a different brand that works best. Keep trying to find what works for you. Good luck!

My feet started killing me in the dansko clogs (hello, 14 hour days). I now wear asics and love them. I have 2 pairs for running, and now a pair for work. No more shin splints, sore toes, or ache-y soles. YAY!

I just posted something similar to this in the LPN forum. Nice to see other suggestions on shoe brands. I am writing them down as I speak. Thanks for sharing, folks!

I only wear Crocs. They are the best shoes ever. My feet used to get so hot and tired in my Nike's and I would get blisters and sores from walking all day. Wearing Crocs is almost like going barefoot. It just feels like you are not wearing anything on your feet at all. Mine are more than a year old and are still nice and squishy and comfy. Crocs rock!
