Name tags with pins

So I just started at a SNF that uses pinned name tags. It is going to get old really quick to have to re-pin everyday on a clean set of scrubs and it will probably wear out the fabric faster too.

Does anybody have a good alternative to fixing the name tag to the scrub top which will allow me to swap easily?

Thanks!

Buy a retractable badge holder that has a plastic loop that is meant to be fed through a photo ID type of badge. Just pin your nametag through the loop, you don't even have to "stab" the loop, just do it so the loop slides freely in between the pin and plastic. Clip that holder to your scrub top every day. I hope that made sense!

My temp. name tag had a pin and I did what I just described to you with a fabric lanyard, again, not stabbing the lanyard with the pin. My perm. nametag is magnetic and I put it on the same way---it slides up and down the fabric.

I agree. I've seen several RNs do this, and it seems to work pretty well.

There are also "multipupose" badge holders (on lanyards or with clips to attach to clothing) that are clear plastic pockets for ID cards but also have multiple holes to allow "pin" badges to be pinned to the clear plastic pockets.

Put a magnet on the 2 pieces. I had a name tag like that. Loved it.
