I think I should learn to sew. Can't find perfect scrubs.

I think I should learn to sew because I can't find the perfect scrub bottoms.

In pants I want a gusseted crotch like baseball pants have because I frequently find myself squating. I want two hip pockets and cargo pockets maybe with a flap for the cargo pockets to prevent things from flying out when I need to run.

Does anybody sew their scrubs?

Just so you know, there is a big learning curve to sewing too. Personally, I'd keep looking for ready made.

The only thing in that description that might pose some difficulty for a beginner is the gusset in the crotch area. Ridiculously easy patterns can be found or ordered online. Some have 2 pieces for the top, and 4 on the bottom, but they don't tend to fit very well. There are lots and lots of people with home-based sewing businesses that aren't too rough on the wallet, so you can get the features you want and a decent quality fabric that will last longer than the cheapo fabric some companies use.

Hoping you are successful in your quest for the perfect pants! :)

Don't imagine you are going to find a pattern with the gusset, try to find a pattern with no side seam, and apply all pockets before sewing together. You can construct your own gusset to add to pattern, just remember to add seam allowance. and the grain of the fabric runs perpendicular to garment.

Have you tried aviation scrubs? I love them, tons of pockets and so many sizes.

If you create your own pattern, there are companies in Korea that will sew them cheap, unbelievable quality.
