Freezing cold- what can I wear under my scrubs?

Wear appropriate cold weather clothes and change into your scrubs at work. It's more hygienic anyhow :)

Thank You, but I don't work. I go to school, and I would take your advice, except I have to walk a LONG way in the cold. I take public transportation and I already have so much stuff to lug that it's tearing my arms off.

look for "silk" thermals. They are wispy thin and warm. I got mine at wintersilks.com, but there are less expensive places out there. Keep warm!

Thermals shall not suffice lol.
I live in an urban city where I must walk to and from public transportation.
The weather is already in the upper 30s and "winter" has yet to come.
It usually is windy and down in the low 20s. My scrubs are THIN for this kind
of weather. How in the world do I stay warm on my bottom half? I know I can
wear a thermal all over and a jacket, but my legs will still be freezing. Plus, my
scrubs aren't exactly loose. What shall I do?

I have a pair of baggy fleece pants that I throw on over my scrubs to walk when it's cold out.

I also wear a long sleeve shirt that is made to be an under layer for hiking and such (I get them from REI). It's super thin, helps me keep warm, but not to warm and the sleeves aren't floppy so don't get in the way.

They're spendy for undershirts....but they make a world of difference!!

Oh yeah...common sense would tell me I can also wear sweatpants over my stuff LOL. That's a concept too....why don't I know how to think anymore? lol

silk long johns from LLBean....they are the best! wick away mosture (sweat) and make you feel like a million bucks. not bulky under scrubs.

I also vote for seat pants over my scrubs.... Every year around this time I start looking for new, warm, and cheap sweat pants for winter to wear over my scrub pants... I too have to walk a great distance and in the freezing cold, the sweats make all the difference :)

I think the UnderArmor brand is suppose to be good.... Make sure you get the winter version, and not the 'stay dry' version. :)

Sporting goods stores that sell clothing should have this. Also, you could stock up on the packages of hand and feet warmers. If you hands and/or feet stay warm, it should help your body stay warm.

If I tried to wear sweats over my scrubs, I'd have a bad case of static cling!!!! (If you do this, you better pack a dryer sheet too!) :)

Invenst in a long winter coat... My boyfriend calls them Paddington coats... I have a black puffy one that extends down to me knees... And Old Navy has these strechy white long sleeve t-shirts...

like some others have said, silk thermals are great for wearing under scrubs. they are thin, soft, warm and come in great colors. i got several of different colors to complement my scrubs. i found mine in the jockey store. :paw:
