Are Crocs good for Nursing

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Some people say that these disrupt Nurse equipment but I've worn them at work and nothing has happened.

Has anyone else had any experiences with them because I don't want to ruin anything at work and I'm worried.

Sigh. My cruel mother purposely did NOT pass on any domestic textile skills, as she was so bitter at having them forced upon her along with all the other lovely expectations for women at the time. She went to Brown U. at the time when all the girls still had to wear skirts, and she had to make every one by hand to save money. Never got over it, I guess. Knitting she never touched, I'm sure she would have torn her hair out in frustration.

Grandma was the happy smiling housewife, Mom rebelled, and poor me begged to learn how to sew to no avail. Funny how much more attractive things are when they're a choice!

The Birks look very nice. Though I think I'd be very sad if urine, vomit, diarrhea etc. managed to make it inside that open flap area where the buckle is. Perhaps they will be good when I make it to a cleaner area of nursing.

I don't wear the white leather clogs. I wear these in black and blue:

OMG I would love to see that!

Here are pictures of the Croc cell phone case that I saw at Sprint....

I guess they're not actual Crocs or a Sprint product, just sold by Sprint. The website where I found the pics is www.fonegear.com and the case is called "Crockette" under their foneGirl product line. They come in the colors shown above.

Do they have the same footbed as the regular Birks?

Yesssss, and the foot bed can be pulled out for cleaning. It basically leaves you with the plastic shoe to wash freely and not worry about getting the cork wet.

I like Danskos too, but after the day is over, I never even think about my crocs. They are so comfortable, I forget about them all together. With the Danskos, I have to worry about twisting my ankle.

the cork foot bed is also replaceable. the outer plastic part lasts forever and is durable. should you need to replace the cork foot bed (which does not seem likely), they are cheaper than buying the whole shoe. the outer part is supposed to be 'autoclavable,' for whatever reason one may need to autoclave their shoes....

i'd like to add that i'm a crocs fan all the way. i need the shock absorbancy and squishyness to them. the birks feel great with the contoured arch support, but they get heavy by the end of the shift. i'm spoiled by crocs. i'm a big gal and picturing myself in dansko's gives me a horrible flashback-esque feeling of an ankle ripping sprain.

Someone at work mentioned something about a segment on 60 Minutes in which chiropractors report a massive surge in their business due to health care workers wearing crocs. Has anyone seen this? I can't believe that there wouldn't have been some mention if there actually had been a report about crocs on 60 minutes.

I've been wearing Quarks for several years. Actually, I replaced my first two sets of Quarks last year after about three years. The new and improved Quarkies don't seem to measure up. Lately, my feet feel tired at the end of the day just as they did when my shoes got to be more than six months old. Has anyone else experienced this?

I don't own any Crocs (I have skinny feet :imbar so it doesn't fit right), but I bought it for my 8 yr old son. He likes it because it's really comfortable, and breathable/airy to his feet. One day over the summer, he came home from school and told me straight up "Crocs are dangerous Mommy!!" then he showed me his bloody sole. Apparently he stepped on a small twig and it went right into his Crocs and struck his feet. I don't want him to wear it anymore, but he insisted that he absolutely loves it, and will be careful on what he's stepping into. He wore it all summer long, and up until now that it's colder. As for me, I regret buying those shoes for him, I'm just waiting for him to outgrow it so that I can throw it out.
