I pulled out an old stethoscope and I can't get it to turn. It is a Littmann Classic II SE. It is stuck on the diaphragm and I can't get it to switch to the bell. Do they fuse if you don't use them for a long time?

I have one that was given to me (by Dr. Littman) in 1982. It still turns, and I haven't used it for work since 1990 or so. (Long story -- resident lifted it off my neck one day during a code a walked off with it. I bought a new scope -- a Littman cardiology. And then a few months later, I found mine in an on call room. That's another long story that does not involve sex.) Littman is a very good company. Contact their customer service. They may be able to repair it.

A.D.H.D. Nursing Student Here: I left my littman in my backpack pocket, with a banana to keep it company. I live in the Caribbean soo.....long story short the diaphragm front plate fell off. Do you think its worth a call to littman or should I add it to my long list of disorder related expenses?
