- Jun 24, '12 by Esme12While I appreciate the OP's, I actually like it......there may be some patients made uncomfortable by they skeleton. I think there are areas of the hospital that would be more tolerant.......having the silhouette of the grim reapers wife might make patients uncomfortable. Choose juicy...uhmmmm, No.
The perky pink flower, while cheerful......might stick out when you are giving the news to a parent that their teenager just died in the trauma bay.
I actually don't think many patient would notice that it is a skull and not a cameo but I recommend neutral or removable. The stuff that sticks in families/patients minds would surprise you. I am a sucker for patterned/holiday jackets.
I know..... I hear the collective groan...
Guilty.
But I LOVE them. I remove them and put on my "professional boss" wearing one when I have to have sad serious conversations.
- Jun 24, '12 by Daisy_08Miss. Priss, while those are perfectly lovey. They are made of material and huge trap for germs and bacteria. You cannot clean that off, or wash off poop either! Trust me, poop on your badge, not uncommon. However thanks for introducing me to that site. Looks awesome.
OP - the skull is iffy, but i don't think any patients would really notice. It looks pretty from a-far. The Juicy one however is...just don't.Hygiene Queen likes this. - Jun 24, '12 by K+MgSO4these are all holiday destinations for bacteria and UFOs. What if you get blood on them? you'll never get it out of the crevices.
Also the bling could fall off and end up in your pt food, abdomen (during dressing change or if someone's guts decide to pop open post op -- it happens)
I wear my hospital issued badge holder that can be wiped with a cleaning wipe or alco swab. - Jun 24, '12 by Hygiene QueenQuote from Esme12I really like the cameo, itself, as I love broaches... and I like them interesting. While I appreciate the OP's, I actually like it...... It just doesn't belong in a hospital.
And the "juicy" one.
Aren't we over this "juicy" crap yet?
Juicy does not belong either.
I agree with K+MgSO4 about bacteria.
So no bling-bling...
Save it for your personal life where it will be much more appreciated... and keep it sharp at work.KelRN215 likes this. - Jun 24, '12 by KelRN215Quote from kayruhhI would NOT recommend a "Choose Juicy" badge holder- not professional. I would also not recommend a "We Can Cure It" badge because, well, sometimes you can't. I came from a hospital that would say things like that all the time- "if anyone can cure it, we can"-and it created nightmare situations when they couldn't. "What do you mean you can't cure my child's incurable brain tumor? I sold all my possessions to bring her here because you are the best pediatric hospital in the country!"I also got these

How many badge holders do you need? You need ONE and it should be one that's easy to clean. - Jun 24, '12 by kayruhhI didn't know a badge hold was such a big deal. Sheesh. And no I'm not over that juicy crap yet. I actually like juicy couture merchredhead_NURSE98! likes this.

Trust me, it just opens you up to crude comments.
We were once told that we had to wear badges that said, "Ask me if I'm good!"...

Now, most of us just flat out refused, but those (who were too afraid to buck the system) and wore them were convinced after one shift that it wasn't worth it.
Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, but I have issues with brand-names up in my face every time I turn around... it's my own personal issue.
Seriously, I wasn't trying to be rude... I have my filters on now (it's called coffee).kay0324 likes this.
