Assembling a sphygmomanometer? :(

Whelp, it happened. I'm finally a nursing student, and I'm already headed into week 2. :eek:Tomorrow is Health Assessment and we've been asked to bring in our BP cuffs. (Why are they called sphygmomanometers anway!? I need to look that up...)

I bought a prestige cuff and tonight when I opened it up, it wasn't assembled! The cuff itself is together, but the bulb and gauge aren't attached to the hoses. There aren't any instructions with the package about how to properly assemble this. Is it important which item goes into which hose? I've searched online and only found vague instructions that don't answer that. I searched AN as well and didn't find an answer.

Can someone help?:notworthy:

Both hoses go to the same bladder and share the same air pressure. It's not important which goes where... just put the pump on one hose and the gauge on the other and it'll work just fine.

Yeah, my husband made that point a moment ago with I told him about it. :o Thank you!
