skills to list for telemetry resume

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

I don't know what kind of things to list under my telemetry job on my resume. I worked in postpartum before and on that part of my resume I listed mostly the types of patient care I did (newborn pt care, c/s and vag deliv pt care, gyn surgery pt care, breast feeding assistance,) not specific tasks. I am looking into returning to the maternity field with this new resume. Also any suggestions on cover letter. Are they absolutely necessary?

Maybe list your critical thinking skills, time management, medication administration, discharge planning and patient education, assessments and caring for patients using nursing process. Also if you have taken any dysrhythmia courses/training. I dont't think a cover letter is absolutley necessary but may increase your chances on landing a job.

Unless specifically asked for, no, cover letters are not absolutely necessarily but if given the option why not? When filling out an application online or even when your in person and the person who will be looking at your resume isn't available, it can be really hard to make your resume personable. The cover letter may just be your chance to introduce yourself and put a personality to the resume.
