New Grad Resume question
- 0Feb 13, '13 by simmapleaseHello all! I'm getting ready to apply for my first RN job ever. I'm working on my resume and it looks good right now but I want to make it stand out in a positive light. I've been reading about people using "branding statements" on their resumes in lieu of objectives. I just keep coming across a lot of articles saying that job objectives are somewhat old-fashioned. Also, I'm pretty sure that every nursing student I graduate with will have an objective similar to mine. I want my resume to be unique like me. Any thoughts or tips are greatly appreciated!!!
- 1Feb 13, '13 by GrnTeaYou know what, the HR person who screens new grad resumes has seen it all. Don't believe everything you read about making yourself look like the special snowflake you feel, because, I hate to break it to ya, they won't think you're unique anyway. Unless your last name is Getty and you might donate a million bucks towards a new endoscopy suite, not so much.

All the nursing managers and HR people know that you are looking for a nursing position so why waste space telling them that. I'm also working on my resume too. Good luck!
