Puerto Rico - UMET Bayamon

World US Territories

Hello Everyone! I am starting my second year at UMET Bayamon in the English/Bilingual evening program. While things have not been "perfect " the program is moving along under the direction of a new director (PHD from John Hopkins).

I believe the program is getting stronger and the clinical simulation labs are fantastic under the new clinical lab manager. We have perform our clinicals at the VA hospital so far.

This is not an accelerated program so expect to be here 2-3 years. There are no waiting lists - you can have an average GPA - and the tuition is cheaper than the US tuition - in addition many of your US pre-reqs are taken and they take CLEP results for the Spanish class requirements, Online course are also available. If you can get by somewhat in the Spanish language you can take Spanish nursing classes during the days and graduate even faster.

Hello,

Are you in The Rn-Bsn program?

I am in the BSN English program offered in the evenings.

The director for this program can be reached at (MODERATOR EDIT OF EMAIL).

Thanks. I was curious about the transition from RN-BSN. I will follow up on the contact information. Thanks

hey! thanks for this thread :)

so do they offer fully english classes? I am Dominican and Cuban, so I understand everything in spanish, Im just a timid speaker (omg don't even get me started on how frustrated my parents get lol) so i'm comfortable learning in spanish. Are the test in english or spanish? thanks for your help in advance!

Sorry I haven't been on this website for a while all the exams are in English...unless you are able to take some classes in Spanish and your clinicals in Spanish as I did you can compete the requirements even earlier for graduation. Plan to study a lot on your own - prepare to take the NCLEX on your own it's all up to you to succeed.
