Puerto Rico school feedback?

Anyone out there have info on the school in Arecibo, PR? It is a 24 month program that begins in August.

I'd love to hear anything, thanks.

I was just looking at the Inter website and it looks like they updated the English Trimester section saying that nursing is now a day only instead of an evening only program. Has anyone else heard about this?

Also, does anyone know the typical schedule of the program? What time are classes/clinicals? Are clinicals in Spanish or English?

Hey,the program use to be in the day but is at night now. I was informed of this the one time I actually spoke to someone at the college. I should have played the lottery that day.

Everything is in english class and clinical however I am sure our patients will have a different opinion about that one. I was told class was around 4 to 9-10. Clinicals are nights and some weekends. Anyone else hear anything?

I like the idea of a day program way better than an evening program. I have worked all my life including all through my first Bachelors. I was really looking forward to being a student and only a student and doing it during the day.

It doesn't appear that I will ever experience student life in San Juan since no one will return my emails. Of course "E" returns my emails but 5 weeks ago he referred me to the director of admissions and either she is on a long holiday with no auto-response (yes this happened to me at IAUPR) or all my emails have gone into a big black hole (way more likely for IAUPR).

On the plus side I just flew back last week from an interview at LSU in New Orleans for their accelerated post graduate nursing program. The interview went very, very well and they will send out acceptance letters May 10. So if I stop posting after May 10th it means I gave up on this ridiculous mess and was accepted into a school that has a proven 100% NCLEX pass rate for their accelerated 2nd degree Bachelors.

I feel your pain as well as 90% of everyone else on this site. I am really thinking about going down there dropping off everything else I need to turn in and having a Q&A session with the director. I think it would be hilarious if we all showed up in the nursing directors office on the same day. Well if I do go get your questions ready and will be more than happy to ask them for you or anyone else. Good luck with LSU.

Just curious but have you received an acceptance letter from them yet? If you have then I am going to go on travelocity and find a ticket. I have been looking for a reason to go check things out.

We all have "E" and he is great but he can't answer admissions questions. So he forwarded my email to the director in March and I didn't hear back, so I emailed her. Then three weeks later emailed her again.

Now not only do I have "E" but I have a client and her company does business with the University. She contacted her colleague who works with IAUPR. Her colleague has a contact at the University and this person contacted me to let me know that she can help me with anything.

I anytime I have emailed someone 2 or 3 times in a month with no response I email her and carbon copy her. She gets right on it and speaks with the person and the person promises they will email me back. She is great and I could not ask for a better contact however she cannot write the email for these incompetent people and I don't want to bug her too much.

I find it completely absurd that I can send 3 emails to the director of admissions. That "E" can send her an email on my behalf and that my other contact can call her on the phone and she promises to email me and NOTHING happens. All this is over a 6 week period. That is a very long time to ignore emails.

I really don't know how this school has students enrolled because the admissions office only spends their time sending 8 copies of the same letter asking for transcripts when my transcripts where delivered and signed by someone in the office a month earlier.

Is everyone really having this much trouble? I feel like I am on candid camera. Now really, where is that darn camera!

This can't be real. They cannot possibly be THIS INCOMPETENT!

I'll take off work and fly in for an interview like I did for New Orleans but I am sorry I am not going to fly to PR to find out if I am accepted. Once accepted, I'll fly out to secure housing and other stuff.

Once I know I am accepted I am happy to fly out for various bits of info. But seems a bit ridiculous that I would need to fly out to find out if I got in.

Mike this is by NO MEANS a dig on you. This school gets my blood boiling and I am very frustrated with them right now. This is about them not you.

LMAO!! I am so frustrated that the only thing I can do is laugh. I so feel you. The director you are speaking of told me the exact same thing. I have been waiting to hear from her for almost a year now. LOL. Just yesterday I received 8 letters asking for my transcripts. i just reapplied to the school. The first time I applied I never heard from them. This time I applied twice in the same day and received an email saying they actually received my apps and a few days later 8 copies of the same letter came in the mail. LOL... I refuse to give up because everyone who goes there seems to like it, the price is great, and the wait list in California are ridiculous. So if I have to go there to get things done then so be it.
