Hello to all, I came with the thread of Inter American University of Puerto Rico, that offers ADN and BSN progras in trimester curriculum. I am really desperate and I am doing all the research to find a school that I can afford. Unfortunately, I am not in the positon here in the States to attend to a private schools because I do not qualify for private student loans due to credit history and it is really getting me depress to knock doors and get good news that I am accepted ingo the programsm, but then I get thrown out because of the loan issues.

So, I went to the website of the institution mentioned above and I kind of like the information seem so far; however, I would like to know if it is true that once I finish the program I can opt to take my NClex exam in California. If that is the case without a doubt I will go for it. Can someone help me by providing feedbacks?

I attend Inter and yes, you can take your NCLEX after you're at least finished with the ADN process of the program or if you'd rather - you can take it when you're done with the entire program.

Hi all,

I just signed up on allnurses.com. After being a traveling surfer and yacht crew woman, I moved to the state of Rhode Island 3 years ago, and began completing prerequisites for an ADN. I was accepted into the Community College of Rhode Island's nursing program this past Oct, and began my nursing classes 2 weeks ago.

However, about a year ago I began researching nursing programs in Puerto Rico. My career goal is to work abroad, and I will need to acquire a few more languages to accomplish this goal. Can I ask if there is a current student or a graduate of a PR bilingual nursing program who could explain more about the details of moving to PR and finishing down there. The obvious benefits that I see are:

1.becoming bilingual, that is a HUGE advantage in the job market these days

2.an affordable BSN

3.Better weather than we have in the northeast

4.Surfing

Please respond if you were in my shoes and made the move to PR. I'd like to hear how its going for you, and which university you chose.

I think it was a great desicion I did it graduated in 12 took me 2 and half year to complete my bsn from scratch because my previous education was in business. Is cheaper than in the states just u have to be very patient and goal oriented becuause even do there is a bilingual program is kind of hard deal with thw outside but u will learn a lot and is a great experience

Yes u will be able to take nclex I graduated from inter 2012 I went by the state of wisconsin to take NCLEX but have classmate that did it on claifornia but the process is a little bit longer on california. Is really cheaper than in the state only u have to consider the expenses of moving.

Hello, the only way to apply is via the web. If it keeps failing you need to call admission to let them know. Meanwhile gather all your transcripts from every single college you attended. Also, let me tell you that if you took science courses like A&P they will not get credit here since the science classes are incorporated with the nursing ones. So, get all your transcripts and send them all together to the admission office; I would recommend you to send them by certified mail , because they might lost in PR and at the admission office.

I was able to apply online and in the process of sending my transcripts - I sent my BS degree transcript via FED-Ex - do you think its a good idea to visit the school in Jan? Are there any classes to take in Feb-May if I am in the accelerated program? Thanks for all the great info you have posted.
