I got into the LPN with 1 C 2 Bs and 1 A, but I'm not sure about the transition program. I am in Gary too and will be applying in the spring to transition. Honestly I would think you would be fine, but it really all depends on the scores of others.

the Indy campus is VERY competitive, last round had over 115 applicants i was told. they never tell you how many they will accept either. that's not right.

Deception9999, At our orientation the nursing director stated that Indy takes 60 into the nursing program for each term, a total of 120 a year. Someone please correct me if I have the numbers wrong. It is not a secret.

They do take 120, but sometimes not all seats are filled. Sometimes students drop out after the first week, so the class size decreases. It is 60 for RN and 60 for PN. That is how class sizes dwindle. It is important for those that apply to 2 or more campuses to call the campuses you are not going to give up your seat. Don't just wait since someone may be waiting for that seat.

well that may be true for the RN and PN programs but no so for their transition programs. and forget it if you want to know more about the EMT-P to RN, no one knows what's going on there, other than "we're not sure."

I've known quite a bit of LPNs who got into their transition program easily. They take either 20 or 30s LPNs. What I do know about the EMT/Paramedic program is that they are all taking their courses out at Hendricks Regional. There is one instructor teaching most of the classes and clinicals, so I am not sure they can have more than one class at a time. So, that hypothetically would mean the next class couldn't possibly start until the current EMT/P porgram finishes. Those students have to be really flexible since they try to work around the clinical schedule around their jobs.

I just spoke w/ the head of the nursing dept. at Gary. She said transition class is easier to get into since there are less applicants. I will be applying by Feb. 1st to start the summer program. Good luck to you!

OMG I'm about to fall over in shock. I finally just got notice that my transfer credit for Psych 101 and Eng 111 went through!!! It's only been almost a year since I first submitted transcripts. I just found out last week that all along they were missing the one with those two classes on it and I never knew it. I requested it be sent but it got lost somewhere apparently.
