Hi MistyMiss,

Are you applying to the Program to start in Jan 2010?

I have been contemplating doing the same thing!

I called Columbus today & asked them if I retook one of my A&P classes in the fall, if they'd honor the new grade? They said they would not be able to since the deadline to Register is Sept 1 & the grades for Fall won't be out until December.

They said if I took the class in the Spring & applied for the Fall program, they would pull up & honor a new grade. (since there's a summer semester in between).

I don't know if all campuses are like that or not....I hate to see you spend the $ & not have it work out like you had hoped.

Hiya and TY!

Hopefully I will not have to retake it so that I can apply this September. It is my understanding that if pre-reqs are completed during the Fall 2009 semester, you can apply in April for the Fall 2010 program. Does that sound right?

Yes you are correct MistyMiss. Are you taking 102 right now? I am taking it online right now. Man it's a lot of work since it's the summer. If I didn't have to take it this summer (I want to apply in Sept) then I wouldn't have done it. Oh well, I'm plugging along in it. . .

Yes I am, "plugging along" describes it very well for the Lawrence campus summer session too! Lecture, homework, study.., Lecture, homework, study.., Lecture, homework, study, study, TEST! It goes so quickly and yet requires so much work When it is all said and done though, I am thinking we have made the right decision to take the crash summer course and get into the program in January.

What class are you in for fall? I'm in section H1G, CRN #24303. I'm also in online Chem 101 section 13B, CRN #25829 out ot S. Bend.

I'm in CRN: 24203 (Section H0G! lol) for Micro, and I'm also taking Online Chem in SB, but my CRN is 25831.

I was pretty disappointed in the fact that I had to select a lot of fall classes totally at random. I love when they are on ratemyprofessors.com. lol

Hello all! this is the first time I have posted on this site so hope all goes well. But for those of you attending Ivy Tech Indy or applying, I have some questions.
First of all, some background...I am an LPN, got it at Ivy Tech Columbus. Started the transition there last summer, and HATED it. The instructors were mostly the same ones I had in LPN school but something had changed, and anyway maybe it wasn't the right time for me. I am wanting to give it a second try, but at the Indy campus.
Anyone have any advice, such as how competitive it is, I have As and Bs in all my prereqs...should I retake the classes I have Bs in? I got right in to the Columbus transition, so do you think this will be as easy at the Indy campus? Anyone know where they do clinicals?
Any and all information would be GREATLY appreciated!! thanks!

Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me more about the aphy101 102 you are taking online, do you ever have to go to the school for labs, or tests. I am actually in Gary but the 8 week 101 is in Terra Haute and that would be a really far drive. Also is it true you have to dissect something?

Online 101 and 102 do not require you to travel to the campus that it is out of, but you do have to go to your home campus twice for proctored tests.

I took 101 online and didn't actually dissect anything even though there was a sheep brain and cow eyeball in the kit. For 102 we are supposed to be dissecting a fetal pig but I am not doing it--there are a lot of pics on the internet to refer to, plus a website that you are supposed to look at as part of the at-home 'lab'. So far I've managed to do fine on the quizzes.
