Guess I posted too early then Our session is still going too, but the final which will be given today, is optional and I didn't need to take it. Phew!

You had an optional final for 102? Holy cow. I wish it were optional for online 102. We have to pass the final with a minimum 65% in order to pass the class, no matter what our grade going into it is. So for me, I either get an A, or fail. No in between. I don't expect to fail, so I'm pretty sure I'm getting an A. It sure would be nice if the final were optional though!

Yes, the set up is very nice! You can take the final to replace your lowest test score. Not only that, but if you want to improve, let's say just your lab score, you can take only the lab portion of the final. I think they have found a nice way to give people a second chance in the class if they struggled during one of the sections. Points were fair also, a lot better than 101. We took 6 100 point tests, 3 10 point quizzes and 70 points for HOMEWORK! It was nice to know that the effort of producing the homework counted for something.

So what is the grading scale? You listed a total of 700 pts and then if the final is optional and you don't take it, you'd have 700 pts. In the online classes, there are 1000 pts with 900-1000 being an A.

We had 4 exams--the first and third being 100 pts each at home, and the midterm and final being 200 pts each proctored. Then we had 11 lab quizzes at home, and 11 discussion boards to post. I believe the lowest two lab quiz scores get dropped.

The scale is the same, 90% or a 630 + gets an A.

Both programs seem to have their own perks, taking a test at home would really rock, but the midterm or final could hurt you. Having the opportunity to drop a test and replace it with the final is great, but the tests are all in class.

Do you remember reading about the program that was all open note tests? Greenfield or Greencastle maybe?

Yes I think it was one of those two. It would be great that's for sure!

This is my first time posting and I wish everyone the best of luck. I am applying for the Fort Wayne campus in September. Is there anyone else applying there?

I wanted to add that I applied for fall semester and missed the LPN program by 8 points. I re-took A&P and Psych this summer. I am applying to both programs. The cut off for the RN program was 199 and the cut off for the LPN was 193.
