I am also glad to see some more Fall '10 applicants...it seems like most are applying for Spring. Next semester I was planning on taking APHY 102 and then a few of my co-reqs. I am debating on applying for the LPN program as well...I just wanted to do it all at once but I am now starting to doubt that I will get in to the RN program. I guess I will know for sure once I take the TEAS and finish this semester.

I'm enjoying it so far. It's not been too tough. We're only on the third chapter, though, LOL, so I'm preparing myself. ;-)

Fall '10 here! Retaking some pre reqs to up my grade after slacking off in the spring, but I should hopefully be good to go! I got an 85.3 the first time around on my TEAS with no studying so I plan on retaking it early next year to try to get higher. If not, that would leave me with 209 for the program That is, if I manage to get As in the classes I am retaking. Hopefully I can nail this anatomy 102 this time around!

Ok, I just read this and I'm not sure if everyone knew it or how big of a difference it makes to people but I guess there is another benefit to getting your co-req's done prior to starting the Nursing Program (besides not being completely overloaded)

A.Rank order of applicants
(1)Applicants will be rank ordered (highest to lowest score) by summing the following scores:
a. The TEAS “Adjusted Composite Score”
b. Points allotted to the grades of the completed general education prerequisite courses
c.Points for region of residence
d. In the event of a tie score, one (1) point for each ITCC completed general education prerequisite course will be added to the total score
e.If #4 does not break the tie, the absolute TEAS scores (not rounded) will be used and if necessary the date of program application will be used.

Emmi, I think they are referring only to the 4 pre-reqs, not co-reqs. So don't stress!

You definitely don't have to have the co-reqs finished to be accepted. There are several people in my class who haven't finished all of the co-reqs yet. However, if you've had APHY 201 and Micro I think that the nursing program will be a little easier. Micro definitely!

I'm thinking of taking APHY102, Micro, and Math118 next semester. Do you guys think that's too much of a load? I'm especially worried about the math because I am no mathematics guru. :-)

If you aren't any good at math I absolutely would NOT recommend taking two difficult science courses in addition to math. 102 takes a LOT of your time and so does Micro. I would take one science and the math and maybe an english or something, but def. not 102 and micro together.

Thanks, kgle! I'm planning on taking an English class, but I wasn't sure about taking the others together.
