by gonzo1 Jun 12, '12Since HCTZ lowers blood pressure by lowering blood volume, does that mean that you shouldn't try to drink more water on hot days to stay hydrated? I'm not talking about the really sick patients that are on a fluid restriction, but rather your ordinary patient that's really healthy and just has minimal blood pressure issues.
I've been a nurse for a long time and just realized I have no idea how this works. Smarter nurses, please help.
