Another person from Florida "friended" me here that will be starting the FNP program thus summer. She mentioned that there is a few people on here.

I am in the (FNP/Acute Care) ENP program.

We'll have to remember to all meet up here when we get more than 15 posts so we swap info. It would be great to be able to meet for real when we have to go up to USA and also to have a small group of people to help each other study.

I'm doing straight FP, wé might have some of the same classes.

Millie T and 808medicRN, I received my second letter of acceptance today. I am assuming that they received my physical and background check info. I would like to know. At what point should we apply for financial aid? I also set up my email account with the school but for some unknown reason, I received the letter through my personal email. So I strongly suggest that you guys check your personal and your school email often. So far there is 3 of us starting for the summer. I am so excited guys. Let's keep in touch through this site. Hi, I received my 2nd acceptance in my personal email too. I think they sent it to the personal email in case some didn't get the original acceptance letter.

I would go ahead and apply for financial aid now, since school starts May 31 I believe.

I have one coworker currently in the 2nd yr and she says it's difficult, but definitely do able. She's doing it part time while working full time. No complaints from her. I met another coworker today who graduated from the FP program and was very happy with it. She said if you had asked her when she was in the middle of the program she maight not have given such a glowing review, but now that she is finished she appreciates the high expectations South had of her, it made her a better nurse practiitioner. She was expected to know her stuff.

I would definitely go ahead with the financial aid. When you go to the FAFSA website, make sure you do the 2010-11 application...for the summer semester. I would also go ahead and do the 2011-12 application for the Fall. I got my award notification less than 2 weeks after submitting the application.

Hello classmates :lol2:

I sent you guys my personal email address.

I have set up my USA email too. I have it set up so it goes to my iphone for easy access, but I have one received on email so far.

I also sent in my acceptance packet. I was a little unsure about one of the immunizations. I think it was measles? I have record of one MMR and a positive titer, hoping that will be good enough. My PMD said she didn't want to give me an MMR since I already have a positive titer.

I will have to go check into the financial aid too. I have been scouring the internet for scholarships and grants. I get discouraged because it seems like there are a lot of bogus ones that are really just advertisements. Writing the essays look time consuming too, and for pretty small awards.

I know one person who is finishing her ENP at USA. I told her I had read some negative feedback on here. She said she has really enjoyed to program, had good rapport with instructors, admin and classmates. Talking with her made me even more excited!!!!

I can't wait to start!

Thanks for the info. I also set up my email and apply for financial aid for summer and also for the year 2011-2012 FAFSA. I have also sent my acceptance packet since end of March. Now my only worry is that no one from the school contacted me to let me know if the packet is complete according to their standard. I will call the school on Monday to make sure that my file is complete.

I am so excited about this program. I try to block the negative reviews that I see on the forum. I made a personal choice to get through this program and embrace the challenge.

I hope we stick together throughout the entire program. I am so glad I found this forum.
