Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Hello I am looking at making a career change from business to nursing eventually going for NP. I need online live in Missouri found UWosh online accelerated, can anyone who is in or graduated from there give me details of how daily schedules occurred. Did you have chat time or specific times daily for login to school work etc. Just trying to figure out how to afford not working?

Well, at least that's out of the way. Whew! I felt like I could've gone on for much longer than 30 minutes, but I guess that's the whole point, isn't it? Get to the point, and do it quickly, without sounding dumb. :) Anyway, I guess I did well enough. Have you heard back about a phone interview yet? I wonder if they've started them yet. I would love to fast-forward to the end of May right about now!

I know, 30 minutes isn't nearly enough time! And yes, I have it scheduled for next week! What a long process. I know that the October cohort has significantly more applicants than May's cohort. Past blogs have reported that some years, applicants didnt find out til even late June :/ I pray that's not the case this year!

I think that was actually before they pushed the deadline from March to February, so I doubt that will happen for us. I suspect having such a late notification meant they lost a lot of people who just wanted to know where they were going or couldn't wait to commit to another school where they knew they'd been accepted. Personally, I think they should move it even earlier so we can actually be eligible for scholarship programs that require you to be accepted to a specific program. There are some significant scholarships out there with deadlines in April and May. I know October is a later start, but a lot of people are applying to other programs with a traditional fall start date, and those programs will want an answer before June.

Good luck!! Sounds like I may have to wait a month or more before I get one, assuming they want to talk to me. Wonder where all the other applicants are... we can't possibly be the only ones on here, right?

I know, I'm also surprised that there are no other blogs for this cohort. I'm trying to figure out finances too. I've applied to a couple scholarships, but again, it all goes back to the waiting game!! :/

Be sure to post after your interview to let me know how it went/goes for you! Good luck!!

I actually had it early this week! I thought it went good, they were very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. I just didn't like how I couldn't read facial expressions and cues! Have you heard anymore from them? I just secured a CNA job at my hometown hopsital, so I'm hoping that little bit of extra experience will help my case.

Oh, that's great! I applied for another CNA gig last night, and I'm well-qualified, but have no idea whether it will work out. Glad your interview went well! I do think it will be tough not seeing their faces, but I guess that's something to get used to, given the online format of the program. :-/ I haven't heard anything else, but I don't expect to yet. I suspect I'm pretty late on the list if they're evaluating them in the order everything was received. I've been accepted to a local university's nursing program for the fall, so at least I know I have an option somewhere if this one doesn't work out.

Well at least you have a fall back plan!! I talked to the financial aid office and they said that most people get only about half of the necessary funding through Oshkosh's loan offers. I was looking into the nursing repayment program, but yet again, you have to be already accepted :(

Have you heard anything back about a phone interview yet?! My fingers are crossed for you!

Nothing yet. :-/

Hi kpete1986, I applied for the October 2013 cohort and was just wondering when you heard your admission decision last year? During my phone interview, they said that they were hoping to have decisions earlier than the May 31st date, so I have my fingers crossed for that!!
