Univ. of Phoenix Grades

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

I just started U. of Phoenix online RN to BSN. I'm a little overwhelmed but hopefully that will get better as I get used to the system and requirements. My question is about grades. Is it pretty tough to get an A in the classes and how much time per week do you normally put into each class?

Thanks in advance,

Ann

ANN,

I took 4 classes last year with UOP. I loved it! I spent a lot of time on it, but it was worth the A's I made. The only reason I dropped was the cost. I am in a lower cost program now, and all of the classes transferred no problem. PM me if you like for more info! :)

My experience with UOP is it was no easier nor more difficult than traditional classroom. The difference was the shortness of each course that caused me to work differently. I worked about 1/2 - 1 hour each week night. I tried to finish most work b/4 weekends but occasionally a group project required weekend time.

The work was very doable the group projects however, are a huge, stress inducing, poor use of time. Trying to get people from all over the world (yes one individual from Japan in my class) to communicate is extremely difficult. Then if you have one or two in the group who just refuse to participate until the very last minute, reflects poorly on the group grade. That would be my only true complaint I have with UOP.

Just curious why "A"s are in question.

A's are in the question because I have not yet received any grades from my work and I was just wondering how hard they grade.

The group projects do seem pretty intense but I think we have a good group this time. It seems like it would be very difficult if there were some who didn't participate much. In a way I think the group projects are good because it makes you collaberate with others, deal with delegation, and it also forms a bond between the students which is something that is harder to come by without face to face learning.
