Straighterline A&P

Has anyone taken either Straighterline A&P I or II, with or without lab? I am looking to sign up within the next week or so and am wondering if I need the book they "suggest", or can I get away with a good reference book? I have 2 A&P books as well as a companion lab book, and Vangonotes for A&P, none of which is the recommended book.

As always, any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Do you have to purchase the lab kit that straightline says is mandatory ??????/

If your going to need the lab.. and plan on taking the Lab...YEs you must purchase the lab kit....It cost me 285.00 with shipping and the labs are many but not hard.. just takes about 30 min to 60 min each.. I did all mine in a few days.. it is a straight forward process not hard.. and Straighterline understands your data will different than anyone else .. so there is no correct answer.. but ..you need to be in the ball park.. and many of the Labs are you taking pictures of your stuff and sending them in... big thing is you MUST COMPLETE.... all the labs... email me for more info..

I will also email you but you may not need the lab. I am doing it with no lab and it is still accepted by Excelsior. I also know where I am going to do my BSN will acccept it without the lab.

well if you do it without the lab then it isnt enough credit is it?

It is enough credit just not for most RN to BSN programs.

EC just requires A&P-1 and A&P-2 with no lab... but.. .if you want to go on to a BSN you will need the lab.. that what is why I did the Lab.. it was really worth it.. not that bad.. and a good bang for the buck.. or so I thought.. compared to a brick and mortar school..I did both in a month and half.. and I could have done it in a month ..

Depends on what BSN progrm you decide to go to. I am going to be attending Thomas Edison state College and they don't require the lab. My back-up plan school does require the lab but won.tt accept the straighterline courses so it is kind of useless for me to do the lab portion with the course.

Ok sounds like you have a great plan..I just wanted the lab incase I need it. down the line.. yes some school take it and some do not.. Im just keeping this in my hand of academic cards , in case I need it, if not ...well it was fun and not that hard. and I got to see the inside of a fetal pig.. and cow eye and sheep brain,,, fun stuff

just signed up for the straighterline a&p. Hope it works out for me......

Just finished Straighterline A&P one with lab and A&P two with out lab.. I started on May 5th and completed on July 21.. not bad for a course that takes two semesters in a brick and motor college.. if you want any tips or info let me know. It was not a cake walk. but very doable..

How long do you think it would have taken you if you had just taken A&PII but with the lab??

I think based on my the labs for AP-1 I could have done it in a couple of weeks

Thanks for the post. This is the only online A&P that the school I want will take. I can see why -- it has a lot more requirements. Do you need the microscope for the first semester? It only mentions it on the A&P syllabus.

As for the pics of the labs -- I am lousy at downloading though I guess I could get a friends to snap them on his IPhone for me. How detailed do the pictures have to be -- would a plain old point and shoot camera work?

Also, which schools have rejected Straighterline? Are those the same schools that won't take online courses anyway? Is it a problem you get a percentage instead of a letter grade?

Thanks everyone! This course is adding up -- $$$ and I hope it counts.
