Well I went and did it, I went ahead and enrolled in EC RN-BSN program. I had my unofficial Eval and I only need 5 general ed courses, 2 nursing exams and 5 nursing courses.

Working only 3 nights a week and when I'm home there isn't a whole things to do at night, except going to Wally World, so I figured I may as well get started.

Steve

Congrats on getting started! I'm starting the RN-ASN in December.

Best of luck to you! :)

The sooner you start the sooner you finish! Good luck with your program!

Good luck! I am hoping to go straight into the BSN once I finish my ADN next year. Let us know how the program is!

My hospital is affiliated somehow with Western Governor University so I am going to see if they can help me with tuition for it :-)

Awesome, Steve!! :) I think it's great to continue while you're still in student mode. Might as well get it done!!

I'll be right behind you in January. Kudos to you :)

It's not as much as still being in the learning mode as when I first started the EC program, my sister told me that I couldn't get a degree through this college, then there was no way I could become an RN that I must be confused and doing an LPN program, then there was no way I could get my RN license and even if I did I couldn't find a job. I then decided to I would go ahead and get more education then her, it may not be the only reason but it is a great motivator that and working nights limits my normal activities. I have found out a few things about time off when working nights.

1. Going to the 7-11 more the twice a night is considered stalking.

2. I am not allowed to pressure wash the driveway after 10PM

3. Power-tools such as; table saws, miter saws, routers, air compressors and power drills make more noise then the neighbors like.

4. The people that work nights at Wally World have no sense of humor. I'd best leave that one alone.

5. I can't walk the dog at 2AM, for a couple of reasons, he doesn't want to go and the police will stop and question me every time.

So with so many activities limited I may as well find something constructive to do:jester:

Have Fun

great job with re-enrolling! i also did the same thing. i rc'd my asn degree july 20, 2007 and my rn lic aug 16, 2007. my enrollment date was sept 8, 2007 for my bsn! i also re-enrolled with excelsior. not only did they accept all my credits you get "5" free credits for just being an alumni! i am currently in my last class now (capstone course) and loved the whole program. i feel very prepared for the anp-msn program that i have just applied for! good luck, if you have any questions let me know. melody:lol2:

Good job! Congratulations on making that decision and going for it. I like that your sister was so wrong! You did it!

You're right on with your night observations. I'm a night owl (future night differential! Yeah!). The world is just different at night. It totally makes sense to do yard work at 10pm, when you have the energy, but somehow that is not okay with people. :)

I am racing a friend of mine to RN. I woke up one day during the summer with this very strong desire to beat him to that goal. Normally, I'm not competitive, but it's been good, fun and motivational for me.

Awesome! Congrats on your decision!!!
