How well did you do on your first (NC1) practice test?

I took it tonight (form A and B) and overall scored a 78%

I havent started studying yet and I was wondering how well I am starting out. I know most people take the practice test first to see what they need to focus on...

Thanks :)

I used the online practice tests for each exam and don't think I scored higher than a 72% on form A or form B before or after studying. I ended up getting mostly A's and 2 B's. I think the scoring for the real exam works differently because it's broken up into categories and each category is scored seperately. It's funky. You'll see when you get your print out after your first exam. I think 78% is a great start!

Thanks. I was a little worried. Im going to start my way through the free outline from the website and try to be ready for the final test in 4 weeks. Do you think thats a fair amount of time?

I never got higher than a 72% on any of the practice and ended up with mostly A's and 1 B....

You're ready.....If I were you I wouldn't wait the 4 weeks bump up the date and take it

I agree with MAnurse.

I took the form A, studied for a minte and took form B. Next day I took the test. I barely passed, but I was exhausted from work. You can do it. give yourself a few hours on each topic and take B. I am sure you will do fine.

BTW, I did worse on B than A.

Good Luck.

Yep, I would take it ASAP (though I would advise studying something, I mean, you do want to learn...) if I were you and just git er out of the way!! You'll pass with an A for sure, and get the confidence to keep going at it. You'll be done with the program before you know it.

Another thing I found helpful to pump me up about my lame practice exam scores is somewhere on that goofy looking and hard to navigate website where the practice exams are, is a statistical analysis of scores for each (anonymous) practice exam taker (and it's broken down for each question too!). Some questions only 7% of test takers got right. I think that's how they analyze their questions to make the real exams better or something. Even at by 72% I think I was in the 80th percentile of students having taken it also. THat made me feel better.

Wow, thanks! Im excited now. Im going to go ahead and schedule the test. Im still going to study, but only the stuff I feel I need. I have to practice my nursing process steps and application of those. Thanks for all the info and encouragement. Ill let yall know how I do.

i made a 76 on the first test and a 67 on the second practice test. i schedueled my test without really studying for it....dum dum me. it was so heavy on the nursing process..oh my gosh i thought i would shoot myself if i got one more nursing process question. there was only 5 of my questions out of 160 that were from the practice test. make sure you know your nursing process and know your dosage calculations ( i had about 6-7 of these iv drip rates, med doses) you will have a calculator on your machine you just need the conversion. oh ...i ended up making a c on the test , it was alot harder than i expected . goode luck

It does sound like you're ready ... I got a 75 and 85 on my NC1 practice tests, and ended up with a B on the real thing. I was actually surprised I got a B -- I felt like it was an A, but oh well ... I tell myself it was a B+. :) I don't usually take the practice tests on the same day -- I do a little touch-up studying in between on the areas where I was the weakest.

Good luck!! :)
