Hi - thanks for this thread. I am looking into A&P I online because the only section available here is at an inconvienent time. However the online courses I have found are only 3 credits, and I need 4. Does anyone know of a 4 credit online A&P I course? Thanks!
You could try Rio Salado. I their A&P classes and felt it was very poorly put together though. The instructors really were nothing more than exam correctors who seemed too busy to answer even basic emails.

I have taken other courses at Rio that were excellent and provided a positive learning experience. I just would not do A&P with them had I known then what I know now. Still, if you are in a pinch... you do what you have to do.

I am debating to attend edukan or rio salado for A & P II. Was wondering which teacher in either college I should choose. I want a teacher that doesn't just pass anyone or that is never there to respond too. This is for the upcoming Spring semester.

Brigham young university in utah has micro online. they have other sciences online with the labs. i'm getting ready to take micro right now.
Well, bummer -- It looks like it's only a 3 hour class, and I need a 4 hour.

Anyone taking AP II online for spring? Which school did you decide on? Thinking about Iowa Consortium, rio salodo or edukan (I think they may be full cause its no longer offering it).

    Hi all

thanks for all the information. I am looking to take care of my pre reqs online before going in to a second degree bsn program. Another prospective student at an open house suggested i check out university of phoenix for pre reqs. they have A & P 4 credit with an online lab and claim to have new classes starting every month. This would be the first time i venture into the online education world and would choose it both so that I could hold on to my higher paying less rewarding job for a bit longer and because it seems so difficult to avoid getting locked out of limited sections of these classes at the local community colleges where it seems you have to be a full time student in order to get in.

Does anyone have any experience with University of Phoenix. I feel a bit nervous about giving them so much money with no real references.

    thanks

hi. this is the reply i got from one cc i applied to regarding online courses:

the nursing board requires that labs be hands-on (traditional lab class on a campus). they will not accept online labs, or let you sit for the rn exam if you have a&p or microbiology on-line

was anyone else ever told this?! my school said the courses were fine by their standards, but it was the board of nursing that would have the problem. he's a really nice professor, but i feel he might have the wrong info as so many of you are going this route as well. who could i call to verify this info with?! thanks :spin:

I don't have experience with Phoenix but have taken classes online. I took 4 through Colorado Community Colleges online. I am from Massachusetts and so when CCC raised their tuition I looked for a cheaper alternative and found Massachusetts colleges online which offers Mass residents the same tuition within all the college classes they offer online. Maybe your state has something similar?

Have any of you come across a 5 unit Semester online Microbiology class from an accredited institution with the proper ratings? My CC will accept the units...if I can find one. BTW, I'm not sure what they mean by "proper ratings". I guess they mean that the school has to be a reputable one.

    Thanks everyone.

I am looking for an online microbiology and Chemistry course. I am currently in Iraq and would love to get these classes out of the way before I go back to the states. I am not military so I would prefer a school in my state so I can get in-state tuition. Does anyone know of any colleges in Florida that offer these classes. ccconline seems great, but how much is the out-of-state tuition there? I saw that a class may run about 400-500 instate. Im scared of what the out of state prices will be. Please help.

here is a link for you to look through. there are several good florida schools listed with online courses available. up to you to decide the right one for you. education is becoming so standardized coast to coast that at that level, it's just a matter of personal preference.

    Hi Y'all,
I am currently taking an online micro course at Weber which is fine, but although I received approval for it from one school, a different one would not accept it due to it not having a lab. So now I am trying to find a micro lab only--don't want to pay for taking micro twice! Any advice? Lizard3

Try Rio Salado online in Tempe, AZ... I think I remember a student that was just taking the lab. good luck

Thanks for all the help. I wanted to take my science through IOCC with Dr. Klepper, but one program I am applying to will only accept chem courses for science majors --so I could not take the IOCC courses-although I wanted to. I am now looking into EDUKAN which does have the chem for science majors-but hope it is not too hard. Also need to make sure they are accredited and transferable to my schools in GA. Anyone have trouble transferring EDUKAN credits? Thanks, Lizard3
