online rn or msn at Stony brook university, anyone?

Is this the Stony Brook in NY? What do they require?

I am having trouble finding a college that has room anytime soon for their RN program. I was going to go LPN first, but I missed the testing deadline for the only place around me and everyone keeps telling me that LPN has no help for going for my RN and to just go for the RN.

Hi, RN2B4ABBY..

I am an Excelsior student who transferred after the first half of my program. My study buddy is an LPN (or LVN, not sure which, or if there is a big difference).

If I had it to do over again, I'd've gone the LVN direction. Lower keyed, a bit more relaxed than the RN programs, shorter waiting lists because everybody is going for the RN. Plus, if you have the LVN/LPN, you can work as a nurse, and pursue the RN as well.

My understanding of the Stony Brook program is that they have a MSN/ NP program. Best to look that one up on the web....

I don't have specific information about this program but online courses are great and you have a lot of choices of different programs now (RN/BSN). Start off slow and start with one easy course first. Taking a course online requires getting used to so it is best to ease into the process. Good luck.
