LPN to BSN-Indiana State/College Network

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Hi everyone! I am wondering if anyone has gone through this program or heard about it! It sounds really good...but I would love to hear from people who've done it!

Thanks!

:p :p

Nobody...?

Thanks anyway!

Hi Faith I am enrolling in the program today. I researched the heck out of this program. I called the Ohio Board of Nursing and they said if the LPN to BSN program was accredidated in Indiana and approved by the Indiana State boards than it was OK for Ohio. I called the Indiana Board of Nursing and without hesitation they told me that a lot of programs are switching to online and they approve of this one. So, with that said, my DH and I decided this was OK. I am filing out my enrollment papers now and I will start next week. I will follow the test every 8-weeks rule so I can get it done. I am so excited not to have to travel to college everyday and leave my family behind while studying. I am getting myself a lap top computer so I can set in my recliner and do my work. I am here anytime if you need to ask anymore questions.

Thank you so much for your reply WINGSLPN! I wonder if someone in NYS goes through it, if they are allowed to sit for their RN afterwards. NYS is so picky about that!

I am glad to hear that you are enrolling! Please keep me posted on how it goes-I would love to hear all about it! I wish you the best of luck with it and congratulations!

Dear Faith

I choose to take four classes at my local community college such as statistics (I really couldn't see myself testing out of that one) lol. and I am doing 3 study guides and test out through TCN. ISU recommended TCN to me to prepare me and walk me through the process. I attended my first two classes today and I will get my study guides in a couple of weeks then I will start my nursing classes in August. I am so excited. ISU told me that everyone that has come to them through TCN is doing great in the program. I hope you take the plunge and follow your dream.

Thank you! It just sounds wonderful for LPN's to be able to get out there and go right for the BSN! Good luck and congratulations!

Dear Faith

As for your earlier question about anyone attending from NYS. All you have to do is call your State Board of Nursing and ask if they acknowledge ISU LPN to BSN. I hope you continue your education. It feels so good for me to get back to my dreams and this time it is for me.

Thanks! I was never really sure how to find out about that! I think I will do that today!

I am so excited!

I will be starting ISU's LPN to RN this fall. Right now I am completing my prerecs through Clep tests and online courses. A friend of mine at work is doing it and is loving the online nursing classes. I'm very excited about it and have heard nothing but positive reports from people.

My plan is to get as many classes out of the way as I can through the spring and summer so I can do the excelerated track and finish sooner.

Michelle

What is the excellerate track and how much time is reduced. The only reason I have not considered this route is because it would take me about a year longer to get my BSN than if I did Excelsiors ASN and then UOW's BSN. Let me know.

Cheri :)

I'm interested in starting this program but can you start the nursing classes at anytime after you've been accepted into the program or is it like a fall, spring, summer start. Also how long does it take to complete? I noticed somewhere it said 2 years. Is this correct? Also I still need microbiology and chemistry. Would it be better to take these classes at my local college or take them online through the college network? Would my board of nursing except these classes without a lab? Just some concerns I have. I feel like this program would be better for me though because you still have clinicals and I like the idea of getting "hands on" experience but not the idea of going to class every day which is very time consuming. I checked out excelsior college which offers the 1 year lpn to rn online but I'm not real thrilled with the idea of fitting all my skills into a 3 day event so I decided against this program. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
