Nursing Students Online Learning

Is there a distance learning program for LPNs? To become an LPN that is.

Clinicals are done in a facility near where you live. I live in another state and do mine at a hospital near my home. There are 5 times during the RN program when you must go to the campus; that is for validation.

This is correct. I also went to DCN and all my clinicals were in my state. The validations are at the school. Validations and clinicals are not the same this is where some of the confusion may be coming from.

How are things going NICURNtobe?

Hey was wondering if you ever found a online lpn school yet?? I have been searching myself and only found the one in MN (I am not interested in their program). Hope to hear from you soon and thanks!

What was the one in MN??

It is my understanding that Deaconess has dropped the LPN stopping point of their program recently since they have changed to become Chamberlain. A recent thread discussed the fact that Chamberlain has just dropped the out of state aspect of their program. It is sad to see a once respected nursing program deteriorate.

I have never seen any other online LPN program other than Deaconess.

There is a program started this year for LPN at a tech school in NC. Dont remember name, but contact NCBON at 919-782-3211. Let me know how it goes. Good luck.

Specializes in None.

I tried the deaconess.edu website and it asked if I meant deaconess.org. Is there a different contact number I could try. This program sounds exactly what I am looking for. I have 4 kids and a husband that often travels. Thank you for any info on this or any other Online LPN program.

I am assuming this program doesn't exist anymore?? I could not find anything online either!

It's Chamberlain College which only has the RN program now. I think they only allow in state people to attend the college. Good Luck

No, Deaconess was bought by a proprietary school which in turn dropped the LPN stopping point, changed the program, and again transformed into another proprietary program. Deaconess is long gone.
