Hi guys,

I'm new at Excelsior :) I'm taking my first exam next week and just thinking - what order should I take the rest of the exams? I'd like to take the easy one first (well, ok.. I know that there is no such thing.. Maybe, not easy, but the easiest) and leave the hardest one to be the last test, so I have more time to study.

So, if you can tell me which test you found to be the most difficult, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!

It's different for everyone, really. The unique thing about EC students is that we're already healthcare providers of some flavor, so we have different experiences. I didn't think any of the subject matter was particularly difficult, but I enjoyed the exams that had cardiac/respiratory (the old NC4, now "Health Differences Across the Life Span 1") and trauma (NC6, now "Health Differences Across the Life Span 3") because I came into the program as a paramedic. I thought NC1 (now called "Essentials of Nursing Care: Health Safety") was the most difficult! LOL. That was the only exam on which I didn't get an A -- I got a B. Some students seem to struggle with NC5 (now called "Health Differences Across the Life Span 2") more than any other.

Good luck!

NC 5 hands down for me. I was able to pass all others with little/no studying.

I found 3 to be a bear.

See? Three different responses, three different experiences. :D

Thanks guys! :))

I struggled with NC 4. I hate acid/balance base crap. NC 5 scared the crap out of me because sooooooooo many people fail it. After taking it, I thought it was the easiest one. This may have been because it was my last one and I think I finally figured out how to study correctly for me for the tests. However, if I had to do it over again, I would've saved NC 7 for the end. But then I've heard of people saving NC 7 for last and then underestimating it... Lunah's right, there's all kinds of scenarios/situations for people!

I thought NC5 and the one with Resp/Cardiac were the easiest.

For me it was NC7, I HATE history and would request a root canal without novcaine first :chuckle:chuckle:chuckle

NC5.. it was awful. I studied like crazy.. by my results I looked like I had absolutely no medical background or studying time.

I LOVED NC3. It was a piece of cake. NC1 was a rectalgia, not surprisingly, for me.

NC5/LS2 has seemed to be the hardest for me. I did terrible on the test and truly cannot figure out why I did! Good luck!!
