Jacksonville university RN to BSN online

Nursing Students Online Learning

Updated:   Published

I'm looking into an RN to BSN online program! I have applied to Jacksonville university and I was wondering if anyone who is in the program or is going to be has any advice and likes the program??

I'm currently taking Evidence based practice and Health assessment. From what I can see, week 7 is packed with many assignments, and students should probably work a week ahead of time. Evidence based practice centralizes around one 10-12 page assignment and it's due week 7 (There are 3 or 4 smaller assignments on the same concept as the 10-12 page assignment, these are due throughout the 8 week session). Informatics and professional nursing were easy to take together, it is expected with any program that the courses become harder as students progress. I'll try and post by the end of the session how both these classes went.

Is there anyone who has taken both classes together before and can give additional insight?

Would some of you update us on how you are doing at JU? BSN and MSN programs please!

Just graduated June 22nd!!! :)

Congratulations. Please share with us your experience at Jacksonville Univ....The support of instructors, amount of work, grading, any group work? Thanks! Again Congrats.

As you can read in my previous post, I'm in the JU RN-BSN program now and can say that I am having a good experience. This past session I took Evidence based practice and Nursing assessment together and the beginning was wasn't super challenging; however, you have to plan 1-2 weeks ahead of week 7 because that week is PACKED with assignments, I prepared ahead of time 10 days in advance and was working down to the last hour, but I am very detail oriented.

I took some time off and just started back this session. I am taking nutrition and Holistic Nursing. Both seem pretty interesting but this nutrition class is going to be A LOT of work. I too took Evidence Based Nursing and Health Assessment together and to be honest after that I got totally burnt out and wound up taking some time off. I will do these 2 together and the last 4 seperately and then done! I have liked my experience with JU so far, but I find the university alliance people to be pretty pushy about buying books from them and constantly wanting you to give them leads.

Thanks RN_MEDIC and TerpGal02, I appreciate the feedback. I will be starting JU in Aug, my 1st class is NUR 512 Organization, Delivery, and Policy in Healthcare. Looking forward to starting this MSN program.

I agree, the UA reps can be pushy with the books and registering for classes.

Hi,

Im hoping to start in April. How's it going for you thus far with JU?

Hey NurseGizy- I can't speak for the RN to BSN as I am in the MSN but my experience has been great. The 8 week semesters are intense but doable.

Hi! I'm planning on starting the RN-BSN program in January 2015. Has anyone had problems or pushback with transferring credits? I am taking 9 GE credits this semester at a local community college to cut back on price (Nutrition, Philosophy, and Macro Economics). Thanks!
