Has anyone taken A&P 1&2 at Excelsior???

  1. Hello ppl....
I have a ? and I'm hoping you can all help me.... I'm an LPN and I only have A&P I. I know that we need both 1 and 2 to finish the program at Excelsior.
My question is.... do I have to take these as online classes from Excelsior or do I just take the tests? Also, do you think they will give me credit for A&P I, and just make me test for A&P 2?
Thank you and I appreciate any information you guys can give me.

Excelsior provides ONE TEST for A&P. I'm not sure how they'd credit for your completed A&P I. Side Point: Excelsior's A&P test is w/o labs, in case you go to another school or program that requires labs.
    I took Excelsior's A&P test a few months ago.

Thx 4 ur reply... I'm supposed to take it at a local CC. I was just wondering if this is something I can really do online. I was trying to decide whether I'll take it through Excelsior or not.
How long did you have to study before you took the test (I'm sure you passed!), and is it really, really hard?
    Thanks for your time.

It's a dfficult test because of the sheer amount of material -- it's a 6-credit exam, and it covers ALL of A&P -- like what you'd cover in A&P I and A&P II. It's do-able, but I spent the most time studying for this one out of all the EC exams I've taken. And I was quite happy to walk away with a B!

I passed with a B. I studied about 6 months (working full time, studying as much as possible, but not everyday). I considered the studying and test rather difficult. Study the Excelsior content outline and take their practice tests. Those 2 steps will put it into perspective and give you more confidence that you know what you need to know.

Go to www.excelsior.edu create a free account, then go to free exam content guides, it will give you an outline of what to study and the recommended books. Down load and print out the guide. Everything you will need to know is listed in that outline. It will give you the book they prefer and a list of the chapters under each section in the outline.

    Hope this helps!!
