Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Nursing Students Online Learning

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

I thought the capstone was pretty intense. I was extremely anxious anticipating the work that lied ahead of me.

So regarding your personal experience, did you have an idea of your project subject and had already started gathering those 15 articles ahead of time? Or did you come up with it in week 1 of class and just bust a hump frantically trying to get it all collected?

I had an idea of what I wanted to do when I was in Nursing Leadership when I wrote my executive summary. I used 5 references for that, and was able to use them for my capstone articles as well. I hadn't gathered articles ahead of time, because I didn't start coming on this thread until I was in Trends. I knew no one who had attended GCU, and had no knowledge of the advantage I would be at to gather articles ahead of time. I work the weekend program at my job, so I was fortunate to be able to work on school work throughout the week. I didn't really have to bust my hump (lol, haven't said that in a while)...I just worked on like 3 or 4 per day and it wasn't so bad.

Week 3 of Trends and the CLC is almost complete! Say Whaaaat? Finally a pleasant CLC and everyone is Johnny on the Spot in getting their work completed AND it's all quality. Patho starts Monday. What are the chances of another good CLC?

Hope you are recovering well at home! Bad days stink!

I am. Yesterday was an equally crappy day. I skipped work today because a kid had a Dr. appointment in the big city, so I had to take the day off. Darn.. ;)

LOL, Prism.

I know it makes your blood run cold. I wanted to cry. However, I took it one week at a time and pretty much took 5 weeks off from any social events, just to focus on the work. I probably went over board with the addendums. Maybe I could have done less? I don't know. I didn't want that professor finding holes in my roll out and then having to go back to make the paper more detailed.

Week 3 of Leadership, and I noticed the classroom is open early. She says she has assigned groups already, but I am not in one, are you?

It says "not assigned" by all names on the class roster? Have to say I'm not overly excited to get started but happy it'll be my last CLC project. Fingers crossed we are in the same group again. Did you email her?

Almost to the end of the first week of stats and everything is as clear as mud... So overwhelmed with the million videos she put up for us to watch. Not to mention the DQs which are challenging and trying to figure out this foreign language! It just doesn't seem right that we start in the middle of the book. I do have the other 2 books that were recommended to spell things out a little more clear, but I'm still waiting for that to happen! Can't wait for the next four weeks to be over!

Remember those? It's actually socializing with other people other than those who live in your computer. :)

Those videos confused me. They might work, if we didn't start in the middle of a book. Yeah, they need to revamp that class.
