Easiest Way for Humanities Credits???

CLEP? http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/ex_hum.html -- I'm pretty sure EC accepts that CLEP test, but you might want to check. It's worth 6 credit hours.

I work in admissions with a lot of transfer students. The word "humanities" can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different schools. Make sure whatever you take will count towards the requirement at the specific schools you are looking at. The school I work considers humanities any foreign language, art history/appreciation (cannot be a studio course), music history/appreciation, philosophy...and thats about it. We also have a very specific list of the types of courses that will transfer. We don't care if its done online, but you may have trouble finding some of these types of classes online. Just some advice and I hope its helpful because I'm not entirely certain of the general situation you are in.

If you need to obtain 6 credit hours of "Humanities" for the Excelsior nursing program you can take the CLEP Humanities exam, however it is quite a challenge. Other options would to CLEP a foreign language if you are proficient in one like Spanish or French. Otherwise you can take Ethics and World Religion each for 3 credits. They might be a little more manageable than the one CLEP test.

I am trying to complete the 6 credits for Excelsior. I dont think I can CLEP this test as I know NOTHING about Humanities. Is the Ethics and World Religions classes at Excelsior easier than taking the CLEP?

"Easy" is a relative term, however, I personally feel that taking two 3 credit classes is a little more manageable than one 6 credit class. Then, you can always use the Ethics credits towards your BSN if you choose to go further in your education. It kills 2 birds with one stone so to speak.

Your right, easy is not a word I would use regarding humanities. I was just hoping that there might be someone like me with no knowlege of humanities could tell me the best route to go. Thanks so much for your advice!
