I say good luck to you too. I also say hello to DebRN of NY. I remember seeing you on the old studybuddies site & reading of your CPNE exp. on chipkalees site. That site was absolutely wonderful. I started w/ tkaing Excelsior's nursing exams in March of 2001, finished w/ all exams including Dev. Psych in Nov. of 2001, did CPNE early march of 2002 & graduated from Excelsior April of 2002. now i'm in last semster of a local BSN program. I loved the independent way of EC, but last two years have been the busiest & most stressful in my life.

Specializes in Mental Health, MI/CD, Neurology.

Best of luck to you, Angie! You're in for a wild ride! :) It's a tough program, but very well worth the time and effort. Not only do you become an RN as the end result, but you will change as a person.

Best wishes! I graduated from Excelsior & highly recommend it.

Hi to you too VAL :D Small world !!?? We meet again. First congrats on finishing the excelsior program and secondly even more congrats on the BSN :D

I took a few classes here and there got a few toughies out of the way and then kinda slacked off the whole BSN thing  Not too sure I wanted to take the Excelsior route to my BSN !!??

I just got a job that will pay tuition after one yr so guess Ill sit tight awhile and then decide.

Yes the SB site and chipkalee were WONDERFUL and was a major part of our success. I think we could consider ourselves lucky to have had them to assist us

Well anyway nice to hear from you and congrats again on your successes.

;) :kiss Hello all,

I am so happy to see so many people exploring Excelsior. For those of you who aren't LPNs or LVNs, PLEASE check with your state board of nursing for their individual requirements!!! Don't be caught not being able to take the NCLEX in your state. When people ask me why I went through Regents (now Excelsior) I tell them I had to work full time, so this was the best option. I checked with the NLN and my state board, and even the BBB. It is completely legitimate!!!! I was a little concerned how other RN's would see my degree--was I just a "mail order nurse?" But the suprising response has been overwhelmingly positive! They actually RESPECT the hard work and self discipline. Once you pass the NCLEX, no one cares where you went to school. I remember when the NCLEX went from scoring to PASS/FAIL. No longer were nurses judged by their scores. I also would like to put in a good word for the University of Phoenix online. It is for RN to BSN or BSN to MSN. I am doing well, so far with the program. I didn't go back through Excelsior because with UOP the program is 100% online. Deaconess is also a great program, so look into all of the options before committing.:balloons: :nurse:

Congrats. I am just starting to get info from EC. I want to get started. How do I get a study guide and stuff without having to print it off on my computer. I don't want to enroll yet. Can I get the study guides ect. without enrolling. Should I be admitted at least? I've checked with my state boards and I'm good to go that wayt. Thanks for any help or advice!!
