All of them...and for most they'll assign a letter grade based on your CLEP score >50.

They also accept Dantes Exams, and assign letter grades there too.

I don't know.

I do know that I CLEP'd out of English 101 in college, and although Excelsior has granted me a 'pass' and is using the credits for humanities, they will not accept it for their writing requirement (although they will generally accept ENG101 if you took it 'for real'). I also found that some CLEP exams have changed over time, so it may depend on when you took it as to whether the content applies to any of the requiirements they have now.

Yea I found out about the English thing when I was finding info for my fiance. I know there is an online english class that they should accept. I say that because, EC basically says that they will accept any english course that has the title of English Composition Freshmen Comp, ect. if it comes from an actual college and you didn't just test out of it. The one I ound is a one semester course, and you take essay exams, either online or send it to them by mail, and they grade them. SO they do actually get writing samples. That is what he will be doing. The EC exam (from the content guide), looks ridiculously hard, just to count for English 101. I took an English 101 class with a writing segment in a traditional college setting, though so I don't have to worry about the writing requirement.

But I have figured that I will be able to take everything that I will ned to take through CLEP, except statistics, and microbiology.

I took the English comp at my local CC. You may want to check into on-line and telecourse offerings at the local CC. I took the telecourse section and it was not that bad. You could rent videos from the company or watch the telecourse segment on the designated television channel. We wrote several essays and mailed them to the instructor and then would receive them graded back via mail. I only went on campus twice--once for the mid-term and the other for the final. Both of these were timed essays on a given topic that you find out when you arrive at the testing center on the day of the exam. I have heard that EC english is really tough. I do think they have some sort of a tutoring thing now so you can write essays and get feedback on them.

Best luck with this one!

From what I have heard from those who have taken the EC English Comp exam it *is* very tough. No one that I have personally talked with who has taken the exam has made a grade higher than a "C" - although I'm sure some have, just none that I know of :uhoh3: Far better to take the class and transfer it to EC - but then that's just my .02 :)
