Nursing Students Online Learning

Has anyone done the online RN to BSN through the Chamberlain College of Nursing? The program sounds really great, but I just wanted to get the opinion of someone who's tried it thanks!

I am beginning this program March 2nd (RN to BSN) and have been reading reviews online. The reviews for attending the actual school aren't so good, but the online program has received good reviews. I am expecting it to be VERY challenging as I have read and a lot of work! I work full time and will be attending full time there so I do hope it works out! So far, the advisor has been fantastic and financial aid has been very helpful. This is an expensive program but it is one of the few that are accredited and does not require additional clinical hours.

Hey LunahRN, I noticed that you went/completed Chamberlain's online RN-BSN Program. Now that you're done, how did you find it? Any complaints/regrets? Also, are you going for your master's? If you have and started already, did the school accept all of Chamberlain's credits? That is a big concern for me.

No regrets! Great program, great classes. I won't be continuing for my MSN for a while -- I'm working on commissioning into the Army Nurse Corps first.

I am so glad I looked on here tonight!! I talked to an Army recruiter again today about the B-STRAP program and we have decided it might be best if I just get my BSN on my own and try for a commission since it appears it will be quicker. That is how I found out about Chamberlain. Is there a way I can email you directly Lunah-RN with some questions about your experience thus far regarding trying to get into the Army Nurse Corps?

Hi Lunah,
Can I ask why you decided on Chamberlain? Were you accepted to any other BSN programs? If so, what made you go with Chamberlain? :)

It was the best fit for my 206 existing credits. I was accepted to two other programs besides Chamberlain.

I am attending Chamberlain for my BSN. I love it so far. I only have to take 10 classes in total, I will be done in 8 months. The classes are challenging but doable. I got the full boat paid for in grants and a small loan. They are all very nice and helpful there.Sue, RN

Im assuming you had all your non-nursing courses done before starting this program. Do you know upto how many years old they take those courses? and do you know if there is a requirement set by chamberlain that you have to have atleast x number of credits taken with them?
There are seven nursing courses that total 24 credits, so three of hers were non-nursing courses (I had to take the same amount). At the time I enrolled in 2008, Chamberlain required 32 credits with them to graduate; not sure if that's changed.

Lisa,
I am curious....Why did you choose Chamberlin over EC for the BSN?
Better fit for my credits, and I was ready for something besides EC. :)
