So tell if this makes sense.

I need A&P for Excelsior. I am thinking about taking a 4 credit basic A&P class through CCCOnline that doesn't fulfill the requirement (2 credits short). After I'm done w/ the class I can then take the Excelsior Exam and save myself about 800 by not having to take both A&P 1 and 2.

Do you think this class will give me the info I need to pass the Exam? Is there anyother flaws in my logic?

i just finished the "normal" a&p sequence and have to say that we had to take a national exit exam. the normal grade for this exam is very low, our school routinely scores in the higher 80th percentile and the average scores were around 130 out of 200 points (somewhere around a 65%). You need to find out if this is the exam that you will be taking or an excelsior prepared one, A basic A&P class would not have near the amount of info needed, because the systems would not be covered in depth. Just my opinion though. Good luck with your schooling!

Is there a basic A&P1 and a basic A&P 2? If not, and all systems are briefly talked about, then I doubt it. Even if it was 2 classes, and you took both, I agree with the 1st responder's post. I don't think it would cover enough.

Medic to RN...

I am doing the EC thing as an LPN, first off remember it isn't about passing a test to graduate...you need a particular number of credits per program part...A&P for instance requires a 6 credit. Now that being said hope you can follow me...EC offers the test to qualify you for a 6 credit course. If you are going to pay and do a college course just do the A&P if you are concerned about it. Or I have a couple of other suggestions to for you...I use The College Network, expensive but guides designed for EC exams. Also I will give you some links of study groups to join that may help you in your journey...
