Been a while since since I took NC 1 (finished the ASN in 12/05), but just wanted to recommend the Excelsior practice tests. I think they're $65 and you get two practice tests. The practice tests really helped me to assess where I stood and get a feel for the types of things they were going to ask on the real deal.

Good luck!

I took the nc1 not too long ago and twice and did not make either one of them I am despirate to find help. I appreciate the other fellows advice and will try the practice test they are $75 now. I have test anxiety and read too much into the test. so i wish you all the best in the world. as far as the test i believe the questions are looking for simple answers not complicated ones.

You might try joining some of the yahoo email groups for students. Here are a few I know about and most have things to know in their files.

Took NC1 in Feb. Read the free Excelsior Content Guide....and the textbooks Excelsior recommends...they develop the tests from these.

Don't get sucked into paying for Rue, Chancellors, College Network...or if you want them people sell the stuff on Ebay. Buy used textbooks from Amazon.com, or bn.com....older versions are okay....nothing much changes except the price of the textbook or chapter number. TAKE THE PRACTICE EXAMS from Excelsior, they are 75 dollars and you have 120 days to review them anytime you want on the website...you can't print them out.....these are the very real type of questions on the test (very similiar in my experience) if you read the rationales you will learn something).

Good luck

Hi, I took nc on Thursday and studied with the chancellors study guide and passed!!! I am so excited now I will enroll with ec I was nervous and it really boils down to knowing how to apply what you know, I would sell you my tapes and booklet if interested for $75 but that is not the reason why I emailed you, jsut want to give you some light at the end of a hard tunnel.Fell free to contact me at any time, love lids:monkeydance: :monkeydance:

primadonna; the tests they offer for $75 they told me they provide two tests in 120 days, I'm not sure if they are 75 each or for both if you have done the 75 dollar tests and could clear things up for me i would appreciate it, they also said you had to be inrolled in ec to apply for test nc 1 & 2. but you can go to the learning center and take the test without being enrolled. thanks sr9145
