anyone take the Pathophysiology exam from Excelsior?

I'm nervous because there is no practice exam and SO MUCH information. It would help if I could get some feedback. This will only be my second exam with them. Thanks.

I took this exam and got an A without ANY preparation. I absolutely forgot I had scheduled the test. I just happened to go to Personvue web site to put all appt dates in cell phone reminder and to readjust some. Found out exam was to be give in less than 2 hour. I panicked then skimmed through content guide and Pathophysiology books I had. Test was not that difficult to me but I do already have broad "dormant" knowledge base. Took all anatomy and biologies already. Also already graduated from Excelsior ADN program 1/2008 and been LPN for 12 years on med/surg units. But I think if you just follow the content guide and study what it lists, you will be fine.

I agree with zimsaint. Test was not that hard. I used study guide and read through the pathophysiology sections in my med-surg book. I also had notes from a co-worker who took pathophysiology at another school, but the notes really helped. Alot of studying with EC is all about creative resourcing. Their study guides tell you what is on the exam and give you a great start, but look in magazine articles too, study groups, co-workers, and the list goes on! Don't become overwhelmed with the volume of reading material either. Take and conquer 1 area at a time and before you know it you'll be at state boards.

I used Pathophysiology Reviews and Rationales by Mary Ann Hogan - got on Ebay. Read through it, tested and got an A. It was alot of info, but seemed pretty straight forward. Good luck!
