Does anyone know or has anyone had experience w/ Distance Learning? If so I want to know if there's a way I can have my monthly payments reduced or waived. I once owed almost $9000 I have been faithful in payments monthly but now I'm not working :( and I haven't made this months payment.:( It's not a loan, they draft this money out of my account monthly but I don't have any money to draft. I only owe $800, I only attended the school 2 months and I wanted to know if there was possibly anything I can do?

Thankfully,

Noni, have you called them directly to ask? Seems like that would be a logical first step. Good luck!

Yes, I have and I'm actually waiting on a return call as of now. I was told that they had to review my file and they would get back w/ me. I just wanted to know if anyone else has had any experience w/ this so that I could know what to look forward to on their decision.

Good ... I hope it works out for you! For which school were you using Distance Learning?

Thank you, you wont believe it the name has changed sooo many times which is precisely the reason I didn't go but a couple months. The instructor turn over rate was totally ridiculous, they couldn't keep an instructor, and also it was a new school. Which I should have known better and waited until they got it off the ground and running before I began, but I was looking at the fact that it was a possibility that I would be finished in a year. And here it is almost 3 years later and I'm still paying on it and I'm still not an RN "yet." I'm hurt and mad at myself. When I started it was called Radium Soft, then the named changed, I can't remember what it was the second time but now it's called Kaylim Career Center.

I've heard of them ... you end up going through Excelsior, right? Oh, geez ... I hadn't even considered how the recent GBON decision to not recognize EC grads is going to hurt Kaylim.

Yes, you get all of your work from Excelsior so I don't know how this will go. What's going to happen to everybody that's taken these classes that will no longer be accepted. That hurts.... I hope it is something that they can do.
