Any other 91B/C 68Ws on here?

I was just wondering if there were any other Medics running around in here. I spent 12 years as a 91B out of that 6 were as a 91B2F. Speak out and let's hear from y'all.

Will do! I was stationed in Fort Bliss. I was supposed to go to Korea but when they took my blood I was pregnant. I was really excited to go too! But I got to work in the TMC and do some neat stuff.

My first duty station was US Army Hospital Okinawa, I did Med/Surg, Burns and NICU. Next was Ft Jackson I was assigned to the 498th Med Air Ambulance next came Germany, Kirschberg aka Landstuhl where I was assigned to the Blood Bank. Ft Benning was next Aviation Medicine Clinic, 498th Med Air Ambulance, USAMU (google that one). I was on orders for Korea and opted for ETS I found afterwards I was assigned to the 377th Med (AA).

But go for it, you'll do fine with EC

Over here waving the "military brat" flag -- I was in Germany from 1987 until 1992; graduated from high school at Ramstein in 1990, then went to college in Munich (University of Maryland) until 1992, when I (sadly) moved back to the States. When were you in Germany?

I think I was there 1976-1979, I remember the summer I had gotten there they didn't have a summer, I think I was living in Rodenbach and would wake up in the morning, in July and there would be frost on the car. I forgot the name of the town but there was a small town just north of Ramstein and east of Rodenbach that had a real interesting swim bad, they cemented a small creek bed, painted it blue and called it a swim bad.

I remember when the first McDonald's opened in KTown, and being able to get a beer with my quarter pound er. Then there were the small roadside food stands that would sell curry wurst and pom fritz. I never made it to the Oktoberfest, I went to the Bad Durkheim wurst market.

Are you planning on requesting LRMC when you get your letter of acceptance? Is so try going to kaiserslauteramerican.com or google kaiserslautern american, when you open the page, on the top right hand side just below the menu is a small block called the 'directory' or something it has some great links to look at.

Oh, by the way the hospital is in Landstuhl stadt, am Kirschberg, or on top of the hill.

My husband and I were in that area of Germany during that time. We lived in Miesau. He worked at Zweibrucken and in Ktown. I worked at Miesau and in Zweibrucken. We went to Ramstein or Landstuhl all the time. We were there from 78 to 83. I would go back quickly, if even for just a visit. My daughter considered our landlord to be her "Oma".

I was 91A for 9th ID motorized infantry back in the 80's. Did my 2 years and got out and became Respiratory Therapist with GI Bill.

I miss Germany! A lot. It was more "home" for me than most places in the U.S. have ever been. I have some bad memories of Landstuhl -- lost a couple of friends there, and it was a mess after the Flugtag disaster (air show crash), but my long-term goal is to get back over there. :) I requested Ft. Carson (Colorado) as my first pick.
